Namjoon: Age 4
Seokjin: Age 6

"Hey look, it's Namjoon!"

Namjoon thought as he watched the mean bullies walk over. He didn't look up at them, keeping his eyes on his red converse as a little lady buIg crawled on his shoe.

"He spelled candy wrong in class, and everyone can spell it! Stupid!"

Jackson and his friends, Mark and Jeonghan laughed loudly while Namjoon had tears in his eyes.

"Hey!"

He heard a sudden voice say, and he looked up to see one of the kids from the higher grade walking over.

"Leave him alone you bullies! Before I tell the teacher!"

He said, glaring at them as he placed his hands on his hips. The boys were intimidated by the older, and ran away quickly. Seokjin walked over to the other boy who had put his head back down when the bullies ran away. Seokjin placed a hand on his shoulder.

"I got rid of the bullies. You can look up now."

Namjoon looked up at him slowly, watching as he smiled at him. He hugged him, letting a few tears fall.

"It's okay, they're gone. Your safe now."

Seokjin said, pulling away from the hug and patting his head.

"Do you want a tissue?"

He asked, and Namjoon nodded. Seokjin pulled out a tissue from a packet in his pocket and handed it to him.

"I keep them to clean my glasses."

Seokjin said, pointing to them. Namjoon smiled a little as he wiped his tears, sniffing. Seokjin held his hand out, smiling brightly at him.

"My name's Kim Seokjin. What's your name?"

Namjoon sniffed once more before taking Seokjin's hand in his, shaking it with a smile on his face.

"My name is Kim Namjoon. Thank you for scaring the meanies away. Your like a hero!"

Namjoon said, smiling brightly, while Seokjin laughed.

"Yea! I'm your hero!"

Seokjin stated proudly, puffing out his chest. Namjoon giggled and poked his chest.

"Will you always be my hero?"

He asked, to which Seokjin nodded.

"Of course I will."

Namjoon didn't know if he could trust him, so he decided to make him make the one promise he could never break.
A pinky promise.
Namjoon held out his pinky, shyly looking up at Seokjin with innocent eyes.

"Pinky promise?"

Seokjin held out his pinky and hooked it to Namjoons. He smiled at Namjoon, wanting him to trust him.

"I pinky promise I'll always be your hero."

Namjoon smiled back at him, then his eyes widened.

"Always?"

"Always."

"But that's like, a really long time!"

Seokjin laughed and nodded.

"Yeah, it is."
