Bang Bang Bang!! Shots rang out from an indistinguishable area. All that could be heard in the stony silence to follow was the deep breathing of a woman trying to escape. It was clear to tell that she was taking painstaking detail to try and suppress her noise, but it was just not possible. A flashing light passes right over where she's hiding, but whoever it belongs to didn't see her. After a few seconds she slowly rises and creeps off into the distance, escaping for the hundredth time from her attackers.

Emily woke up to the typical din and clatter outside of cars and people shouting outside her apartment. She checked the clock,"6:30, shit. I gotta leave soon."She rapidly rose and stripped, peeling off her clothes from yesterday that she slept in. She stepped into her shower and gave herself a quick scrub, then sprayed herself with her perfume to hide any bad smells. She threw on whatever clothes were on top of her dresser, and stepped out into the world. Her walk to work was a pretty simple one. All she had to do was walk down the road and hitch the subway to work. It was simple and easy, almost poetic.Thats stupid. "No it's no-" Realizing she had answered herself out loud she blushed and hurried away before somebody could say something. That was close. I can't have people saying I'm crazy, ill lose my job over that. She finally arrived at the subway and took it into the city. I've gotta push out all my stories for the week today so I can have off Friday. Emily is an editor for the New York Times. Actually, she is the editor. They only have one for major stories. It's her job to take all the stories and find any typos and grammatical errors. They also have her write her own stories on the occasion, which all have received fantastic results. Sadly, they won't let her write stories exclusively because she is too valuable as an editor. I wish they would just let me fucking write. I'm the most talented writer they have. Ugh, now I'm here. Another exhausting day at work. She took the elevator up to her floor near the top, and immediately settled into her work. She managed to edit every story for the week and still leave early for the day.God, I'm finally done. Thought I was gonna be here forever. A secretary calls out to her,"Goodnight miss Emily!"

"Goodnight Maria, see you tomorrow"

Emily left the building the way she came and walked the short walk to the subway. She would never forget what happened next...
