It was a normal day in the New York Times office. No particularly interesting stories, nothing more than your average robberies and political arguments, and Emily couldn't get Ashley off her mind the thoughts of her beauty streamed through Emilys mind like a waterfall. I hope she forgives me Emily thought. What if she doesn't? How will I ever forgive myself ? Emily suddenly stood up in her office, looking around at her desk and her computer wondering of the girl and left through the door leading to the hallway. Only stopping momentarily to claim what she was taking for her lunch break and she rushed out of the room to the elevator, then down to the main lobby and out the door. She found a nice bench to relax upon, grabbed the notebook, and called Ashley. Her heart was in her throat. One ring.. Two rings.. Finally, someone answered. "Hello?" , came Ashleys confused voice.

"Ashley! It's so nice to hear your voice!" , responded Emily with faked enthusiasm.

"How did you get this number. It's only written down in one place, so you couldn't.. unless.. You stole it! It was you! Why?" Angered was in her voice so sharp Emily could feel it piercing her heart.

" I didn't steal it! I found it after you left.. I just wanted to return it to you.. Where can we meet up?" She stuttered trying to make her understand.

"Do you know a coffee shop called Jasmines Cafè?"

"Of course!! I love that place! I pass it every day on my way home from work! How does..” She checks her phones calendar really quick, "How does 5:30 work for you?"

"Perfect, I'll see you then!!” A hint of excitment in her voice eager to get her notebook back in her possesion.

Click. Beep. Beep. Beep. The line goes dead. Emily slowly lowers her phone and checks the time. The screen read 2:20 and she began to panic.

"Crappp if this is my lunch break I really should eat. I'm almost out of time! I guess I'll have to settle for something quick, only question is where." As she settles into the bench, thinking about where to eat a truck passes by brandishing a local pizza places logo. "Perfect!" She stands up and the sun hits her straight in the eyes blinding her for a few seconds.

"Sonofabitch! Someone turn down the sun." As she stands the sun hits and reflects off the rest of her body perfectly, creating such a dazzling display that anyone nearby notices.

"Why is everyone staring at me?" She thinks to herself. "Oh my gosh!! Did I fart when I stood up? I better leave fast!" Not realizing what everyone was staring at was the noticeable beauty she gave off.  She rushes to the pizza place and grabs a few slices of plain cheese pizza and rushes back to the comfort of her desk.

"Ok Emily. Just gotta get through the day and then you get to meet up with Ashley. Maybe if I finish early I can get home and shower really quick!!" With that in mind Emily did her work as fast as possible rushing, editing at speeds she didn't even know she was capable of, She got all her work done, but wasn't fast enough to have the time to go home. She looked at the clock and groaned disappointed shed have to go to meet the beautiful girl in her work clothes and running makeup from sweating trying to get all her work done.

"Well, it was a good try. The coffee shop is on the way home anyway, much more convenient.” She leaves work and sets off down the street towards home, the spiral bound book in hand and hope in her heart, her heart was fluttering, and pounding against her ribcage, she was nervous she has butterflies in her stomach, she couldn’t get the image of the girl out of her brain, Ashley was beautiful, she couldn’t get the image of her body laying in her bed out of her brain either, the sweaty Ashley, it made her skin look glossy, and her voice although shakey gave her the courage to face anything, she wanted to make things right, and if she couldn’t then maybe it wasn’t meant to be but destiny always has a plan.
