Emily stepped through the glass sliding doors to the Cafè, the welcome bells on the door chimed a hello. As soon as she walked in she was smacked with the aroma of fine Colombian coffee, making her mouth water slightly. Now, where's Ashley? She looks around but the beautiful girl is nowhere in sight. Maybe she's running late. I hope she's just running late.. I'll giver her twenty minutes.. Then I'm calling her.

About 10 minutes drag by, every second feeling like an hour, every minute an anchor weighing her heart down like a boat to the ocean floor,  until finally Ashley practically bursts through the door, her hair all over the place, the world began to spin, even a hot mess she was still the most beautiful girl in the room.

"Sorry I'm late, I got held up." panic in her voice her breathing heavy.

At this moment Emily didn't particularly care. She was staring at the most beautiful girl in the world. Watching her hips sway, her hair sticking up at weird angles and clinging to her face. God she loved this woman.

"Emily? Do you hear me? Are you even listening? Hellloooooo?" She snaps her fingers in Emily's face.

Emily's face was beet red as she stuttered, "Hu-what? Oh. Uh, sorry.. what did you say?"

"I asked you if you brought my book. I'd assume you didn't leave it at home right?" She snaps anger in her voice.

She seems really upset.. Maybe I should apologize for earlier.. "Listen Ashley.. About earlier.."

"No!" Ashley interrupts loudly then carries on quieter. "You don't get to apologize for earlier." The more she says, the more Emily can hear the grief in her voice."You said you were different. That we'd be together. And then you took it all back and shredded my heart." Ashleys voice cracked and you could hear the emotion in her voice, but Emily wasn’t noticing the imperfections, all she could see was the glow in her eyes, and the reflection of the light off her pale skin. Ashley groaned in an angry matter and stammered around the room raising her voice cause a disturbance in the usually quiet cafe. “Why is that this always happens to me? I finally feel like i’ve met someone who loves me who might just treat me like a decent human and you can't even look me in my eyes.” Emily looked at her in shock.

“But that’s all i’ve been looking at, your eyes. Theyre so beautiful they shine so bright it’s easy to mistake them for the universe.”  Ashleys face blushed and she looked down in embarrassment. Emily stood walking over to her tilting her head up.” I’m not like other girls, and neither are you, nothing about us is normal, nothing about this thing we feel is ever going to be normal.” Emily got incredibly close, so close they could hear each other's breathing, Ashley's heart was pounding through her chest so hard she could barely control herself, she wanted to lean in but everything in her body screamed don’t.

“I...uh..why don't we just..talk for a while” Ashley’s voice got squeaky and shaky and Emily just smiles and nodded.

“Why don’t we go back to my place for a little while? We can talk there” Emily said with more confidence than necessary, hesitantly Ashley nodded and followed Emily out of the cafe. Ashley clutched her book in her hands and anchored herself she wouldn’t leave it with Emily again.
When they got to the apartment Emily opened the door and rushed Ashley in.

Ashley sat on the couch and made herself comfortable setting the notebook beside her running her hand down the front of it.

“What would you like to talk about?” Emily said sitting next to her.

Ashley looked at her for a moment and smiled a little a slight crease forming between her cheek and her lips. “Tell me about your past, what made you decide to become a writer.” Ashley asked picking at her nails as Emily just watched her carefully taking in every feature of her.

“I come from a wealthy family, you could say I was spoiled, mommy and daddy owned a couple large companies, i had a little brother who was a huge computer nerd, I loved books, and reading and I looked up to many authors, being rich was a privilege but it didn’t mean I was happy, books were my way of escaping reality, and the older I got the more I wanted people to know what that felt like, but I never felt like I was talented enough to write whole novels, but being rich and pretty I was one of the most popular girls in school which made me realize there was one thing I could do better than anyone and it was gossip, so i became a writer.”

Emily stood up and walked over to the kitchen to poured two cups of wine.

“What about you angel?” Emily asked looking up at Ashley.

Ashley hesitated, “My family wasn’t wealthy at all. My mother was murdered when I was 6 right in front of me, shot dead, and my father murdered by the same man when I was 11, came home from the movies with my friends to see him dead in our kitchen. I became obsessed with their deaths, I wouldn't sleep till I found out more, I moved in with my crazy grandmother who told me the things I needed to know by 16 I was looking for him, sneaking out at night, running through the allies, asking around. Got arrested a couple times.” Emily handed her a glass of wine her eyes wide.

“You? You were the juvenile type? My sweet little angel?” Emily smiled and Ashley just rolled her eyes.

“They caught him after I had gotten into some trouble with a group of gang members who made me believe they knew who he was. You ever heard the phrase pain creates art? Well that's what created me. I used to graffiti the walls of old buildings where I grew up. Then I started to paint and as I got into my late 20’s I started to try making a business of it, which isn’t going very far.”  Emily smiled.

“You are a badass.” She smirked and toyed with a piece of Ashley's long hair that strayed onto her face. She looked her in her eyes and could only imagine all the things she wanted to do to her.

Emily caressed her cheek with her thumb and used her other hand to cup the back of her neck and pull her closer kissing her as gently as she could but Ashley pushed her back on the couch spilling the wine on the carpet, Emily giggles through the kiss and Ashley reached her hand into Emilys skirt caressing her thigh and kissing at her neck. She lifted her head and held Emily's gaze her eyes filled with wonder, Emily has always been the dominant one. Ashley smiled wide and kissed her. The kiss soon turned from soft and sweet to passionate and hard. Both girls were fighting to get their tongue in the others mouth, and Emily was winning. She broke the kiss and dragged Ash into her bedroom, both of them kicking off their shoes and pulling down their pants. Emily pushed Ashley onto the bed and laid on top, a huge smirk on her face.

"Ready? We aren't drunk this time."

Ashley thought for a second and said confidently, "Yes. I'm ready."
