The cold night breeze hit my face as I pushed open my window as quietly as possible. I quickly pulled the screen out and placed it under my bed before grabbing my packed bag and taking one last glance at my room. Phone and charger? check. Clothes? check. Money? check. I had about two hundred and thirty-four dollars saved up so that should last me a while. water bottles? check. Blanket? check. I need a blanket because I have no idea where I'll be staying. Better safe than sorry. That should be about it..

I was about to head out when something caught my eye. The shiny black metallic handle glistened slightly from its hiding spot placed under my bed. I rushed over and without second thought pulled the Glock 19 from the tape holding it under the metal on the bed stand and shoved in in my bag.

I gripped the window seal and hoisted myself out into the dark abyss. I suddenly felt uneasy as I became aware of just how steep the roof was. Its quite a drop too. Nevertheless I made my way to the edge and lowered myself over the side. I took a deep breath and let go, dropping about six feet onto the soft grass. I tried to roll back on my heels to break the fall but it didn't do much good. I've never dropped from heights like that before. I felt a sharp pain in both of my ankles and knees but ignored it and instantly got up and started running. There's no time to waste. I need to get to a safe distance, then I can catch my breath.

I darted down the road, trying my best to stay behind bushes and parked cars. I don't need anyone seeing me. This isn't exactly a busy neighborhood but still. This is a small town with a lot of crime and I would rather not have any of my druggy neighbors spotting me. Its clear to anyone that sees me that I don't have the intentions of coming back and that just makes me that much more liable to being kidnapped. No thanks.

After reaching a dirt road with few houses I decided to stop and rest. What now? I could always call a friend to come and pick me up but no one could drive all the way out here at this hour. And none of my friends live on their own. Their parents would definitely call the house if I showed up. I glanced at my phone which read 2am. Just freaking great. At least I had the sense to charge it before I left.

An idea came to mind and I instantly started making my way to the next town over. It would be almost a three hour walk. I'd better get moving. I brought up directions on my phone and started down the road. I need to stay in the shadows best I can in case they come looking for me. I jogged every few minutes to cut down on time some. Its almost eight miles. Its gonna be a long trip.

*Skip trip*

It was currently about four-thirty in the morning and I felt like death. I had just reached town and honestly, dying sounded like a great option at this point. My feet had constant pain shooting through them and my legs were about to give out. Carrying this bag only made it ten times worse. Finally, I reached my destination- a small and worn down hotel. I was honestly terrified but too tired to really hesitate. I walked in and got a room for the day and the next night. The lady at the desk looked at me weird, probably because of my age, but I ignored it. It's not like she can do anything.

The second I got in my room I locked the door and collapsed onto the old bed. I only laid there for a few seconds before I fell fast asleep. I've never been so happy to see a bed in my life.
