Breaking Night

Chapter 6

I probably looked stupid just sitting there. I was just staring at him. He had blonde hair with a tony bit of brown mixed in. Normally I am not a fan of mixed, but he made it look perfect. I smiled as he held his hand out. I gladly took it.

"Thanks." I said aprreciatively as I smiled shyly looking down.

"No worries, love. I'm Niall by the way. Niall Horan. I go to Oxford a couple blocks away." He explained. I liked his name. It was original.

"I'm Brinley Parker. I just got accepted there. I will be attending next Wednesday. So the day after my 17th birthday. Nice to meet you, Niall." I smiled politely and shook his hand.

"Even your name is gorgeous. Oh! You're the new girl! That's awesome. you are pretty young. I'm 20. Happy early birthday, Brinley. I hope you see you around soon. Bye." He smiled and waved before turning away.

I whispered a silent "bye" still pretty shocked from my encounter with the boy with bright blue eyes that is known as Niall Horan. I slowly made my way to the check out where the girls were paying and getting ready to head out the door.

"There you are Brin! What happened? You look like you seen a ghost!" Em said worriedly.

"Yeah. I just.. Uhmm.. Do you... uhh know a Niall Horan?" I asked while I stumbled over my words. After they realized what I had said, they're eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets.

"Oh my god. He is friends with Harry and Louis, but not as close. He never hangs out with us anymore. He is dating a really big bitch. I am not even kidding. He is too blind to see it though." Jose said with a grimace. Emily just scowled.

"Her name is Kennedy." Emily said. I just nodded a bit disappointed. He was cute.

""Let's go back, yeah?" Both girls nodded as we all grabbed a couple of bags and made our way to campus.

We made it in a matter of minutes and walked into our mini kitchen area. It took us a while to put the groceries away though. Jose apparently likes food. I just smiled at the thought. She reminded me a lot of Nicole. I really missed her. She moved not even a month after my mom's death.

I shook my head from the thoughts and put a smile on my face. I was thankful to have these girls in my life. I am the happiest I have been in years. I get to spend my 17th birthday with these lovely ladies too.

"How about we watch a movie?" Josephine suggested.

"Okay." Me and Em said simultaneously and then laughed right after.

We sat on the couch while Jose put on "Perks of being a Wallflower". These two girls made me feel welcome. The boy didn't have anyone to rely on until they came into his life. That is how it it for me. I guess me, Em, and Pheenie are all Wallflowers in our own ways. Yeah. I'm different, but these girls don't care about that. Soon enough I feel asleep with these two dorks on my mind and with a blue eyed boy lingering there.

***Tuesday morning***

I woke up to two blondes standing right above me smiling widely. It made me jump in fright because I didn't expect them to be there. Me being the unlucky one, I ended up hitting my head on Jose's head.

"Owwww!" I moaned in pain. Emily just rolled on the ground laughing while me and Jose glared at her. All of a sudden, they both turned to me with realization written on their features. I stared at them confused.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRINLEY!" They both shouted excitedly. It hit me that it was my birthday. How could I forget?

Emily and Jose both stood in front of me with gifts from each one. Jose stepped forward and handed me her gift. She smiled widely waiting for me to open my gift. When I did, I looked to see an expensive looking charm bracelet. I looked up to see both girls holding up their wrists to show me their charm bracelets. They had one more charm on theirs though.

"Oh. I also got you this." Jose handed me a small box. I opened It to see a small gorgeous charm with 'Best Friends' engraved into the front. Tears started building in my eyes. I wrapped her into a tight hug. I pulled away a couple seconds later.

"My turn!" Em shouted excitedly. she handed me her gift and I opened it to see a Galaxy S4 sitting there. I sat there completely stunned. We had a long conversation the other day about phones. I told them that I wouldn't want to get an IPhone ever.

"Oh my god. You shouldn't have got me this!" Emily just shook her head as if telling me it's perfectly fine. "Oh my goodness! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I love you guys!" I smiled before tackling them into a hug.

"You deserve it Brin." Em smiled at me. "Well anyways, what should we do on your special day." She continued.

"Uhmmm.... How about we watch movies and then go out tonight?"I suggested and they both nodded their heads in agreement.

For the rest of the day we watched a few movies and for the first time in a few days, I haven't had that boy stuck in my mind.

We just have to wait and see what tonight brings us.
