Hey Guys, just wanted to say that the original story of Adar was supposed to end the last chapter and I was supposed to put the epilogue up. My co-author convinced me to update the story with the 'Alternate' continuation of the story. As stated in my bio, Adar was an experiment on writing. So the 'Alternate' continuation of it may/Will get off from the original plot. If you guys want I could put up the original epilogue of the original ending.

A dark area was lit by a little flame. The flame seemed to beat like a living heart, harmonious and paced.

What is this place?  Thought a voice aloud.

Where am I?

Suddenly the flame died out and the area turned bright white.

Adar's eyes fluttered open. He saw a dark sky with no stars. A lantern soon came into his view. A man was kneeling beside him, holding the lantern. He had jet-black hair that was short. His eyes were surprised.

"You've awoken. " said the man.

"What happened?" asked Adar, pain traveling everywhere as he spoke. A grimace must have shown, for the man told Adar to stay quiet.

"Don't speak now. You need to rest." said the man. He then turned around and stood up, jumping somewhere. Adar was alarmed as he saw the man suddenly disappear.

Adar felt the bumping of the surface he was on, then heard the familiar Clip-Clop sound of horse shoes. He weakly turned his head to the side. He saw brown wood immediately realizing he was in a cart.

I'm in a cart?  Thought Adar. Melanie! Where is she!

His question was answered swiftly as he heard the voice of Melanie.

"He's awake! " exclaimed Melanie.

"Yes. " replied the voice of the man."  We must leave him to rest. Melanie, I thank you. If not for the concoction you made, things might have turned out different."

"What luck." said a voice Adar did not recognize." A Physician and an Apothecary here to aid this boy. It seems more like fate to me."

"He truly is lucky to have survived that wound, but we are not in clear waters yet. Anything can happen." said the dark haired man.

Melanie was riding in the horse that belonged to Nathaniel, alongside the cart. Nathaniel in turn was driving the cart . John had been riding in the cart treating Adar and doing his best to make sure he wasn't worsening.

After they had killed the militia men, John and his brother had brought Adar to the Cart. Melanie followed behind, still in a bit of shock. John immediately began to work on Adar, cleaning his cuts. Melanie gave John a small jar of honey she carried around for emergencies. It proved very useful. Adar's cuts had not been infected and no sign showed that they would.

Melanie, all at once, snapped out of her shock. She began to rummage through John's supply box and immediately was able to make a Lamb's ear. Better known as a (Colonial) band aid, the Lamb's ear would stop the flow of blood from a cut and keep the wound clean. She also added a few remedies, such as roots, to the list of helpful things that she gave to John. He had to save Adar's life and with no time to spare.

The cart had stopped once John had told Nathaniel and Melanie about Adar. Now all three stood beside the cart.

A smile played on Melanie's lips. Her eyes were teary.

Nathaniel grinned and patted John on the back."My goodness, John, you did an amazing job. Is he doing well? "
