Adar awoke to the warm rays of the Sun on him. He sat up on the bed and looked around. He hadn't gotten a clear view of the room the day before, for his tiredness.
A large brown desk was to the left of the bed, parallel to it. A small stool sat over in the corner. The room was small and void of any decorations.
The window in the room (The only one) was 2 feet by feet. Large blocks of wood were used for the outer structure of it. The window was placed about 3 feet above the bed.
After checking his healing wounds, Adar made his way out of the room and headed for the kitchen.
Melanie and Mrs. Willis were sitting at the table.
Melanie saw Adar walk in. He looked tired, but he smiled as he saw her, even if it was a weak smile.
"Good morning." Said Melanie.
Mrs. Willis had her back to the entrance of the kitchen and quickly turned around, in her chair, to greet Adar.
"Won't you join us?!" Smiled Mrs. Willis.
Adar looked at the plate of tarts that was sitting on the table, a jar of Apple cider to the left of it as well.
"I would like to." Responsed Adar, barely over a whisper.
He sat over beside Mrs. Willis, in front of Melanie.
"How did you sleep?" Asked Melanie, pushing the plate of tarts towards him.
Adar smiled and took a tart,"I slept well. Thank you for asking."
"John is in town. He left this morning." Said Mrs. Willis
Adar nodded.

After eating his tart and drinking the rest of the cider, he thanked Mrs.Willis.
Adar got up and headed towards the door.
"And where are you going?" Questioned Mrs.Willis.
Adar looked back at Mrs. Willis, who was beginning to stand up.
"I am going to see how I can help around the house. I'm quite sure Mr. Willis could use my help."
"I'll have none of that!" Exclaimed Mrs. Willis grabbing Adar's arm and leading him back to his room. "You can help out by first resting and getting yourself healed!"
Melanie giggled at seeing Adar's surprised face as he was led away.
I hope he gets better soon, thought Melanie, I pray that he changes his mind about that revenge nonsense.
Adar grunted as Mrs. Willis closed the door.
"Get plenty of rest!" Shouted Mrs. Willis on the other side of the door.
***
"Do you know how to cook?" Asked Mrs. Willis, looking over at Melanie.
She and Melanie were in the back yard collecting eggs from the chicken coop.
The Sun was on it way to setting. Melanie had been surprised at how fast the day had gone by.
She liked the limitless pasture in the back of the house. To the left of the house was the fenced off area for the cows, bull, and sheep.
"Yes." Replied Melanie smiling.
"Would you like to help me?" Asked Mrs. Willis.
Melanie gave a shriek of happiness." I'd love to!"
