4 hours earlier

I was driving to school. My mind wasn't on homework, not on how tired I was, and not even on zelda games or nintendo in general. I was thinking about her. Ashley Baier. My crush ever since fourth grade up till now, Sophomore year. In an elementary school play we sat by each other on the risers toward the back of the stage. We would talk whenever we didn't have a scene to act in, and whenever I made her laugh, I would always smile. Now we're in high school, and I still haven't asked her out.

I arrived at school and parked in my spot, finally groaning and realizing that I have to face chemical formulas, sixteenth notes, and solving for X. But at least she would be there.

I walked inside, bought a juice box from the vending machine, and sat down at the table where all my friends were seated. Andrew, Dennis, and Eddy were all busy harvesting on hay day, stealing people's stuff on minecraft, or clashing with other clans on--well, you know. I pulled out my iPad and checked nintendo dot com for anything new, there wasn't. I checked YouTube to see if smosh, Skydoesminecraft, rocketjump, or peanutbuttergamer had posted anything new, or at least anything that might be of interest to me. Nope. Just another boring Monday morning. The bell rang it's four DING's to send the students off to their classes, and off I went.

First up was band. On of my classes with Ashley, which made it more enjoyable. I messed up on my xylophone part, which was once again pointed out by the director, mr. Chang. Things like this continued all through the day, unfinished assignments that I don't recall being announced, doing things wrong, and let's not forget the best one, misbehavior.

I didn't expect sixth hour science to be any better than the previous hours were, but at least it was another class with Ashley. Mr. Turner gave me a late stamp on yet another unheard of assignment. After that, I had to struggle to stay awake in class, as I had no interest in the periodic table and how its contents make up the universe. After fifteen, twenty minutes of this, I suddenly perked up as the PA system beeped on, and a panicked woman trying to sound calm spoke through the line.

Something was happening.
