Mercy : Accidents Happen

Chase

     Ajax (Mercy) took a running start and lunged himself into the wall of a building his fingers maneuvering into a crack which he used to find footing. Then he jerked himself up. He draped his slim body over the rail of the fire escape and pulled himself up over the edge of the building.

     "HELP ME!!!!!!" Leo shouted as the demon draped his claws into him, and took flight, his wings flapping magnificently. Mercy rolled onto the rooftop and stared at the beast. It began carrying Leo higher and higher.

   "LET ME GO!!!!!!" Leo shouted at it as his hood flopped loose. It dangled off his back. Then his head craned downward and he stared at the 50 feet between him and the ground. "DON'T LET ME GO. DON'T LET ME GO!!!!!!!!!!"

      Mercy watched them, his cybernetic brain instantly whirring to life. He calculated the many routes and sorted out the quickest ones. Then he looked at the gal between him and the next building. "Another day, another dollar," he said, running and leaping off the rooftop.

         Snuff (Trap) watched the monster then shook his head, laughing. He really didn't care what happened one way or the other. He had a mission to finish. He walked lover to one of the crates and pried the lid off. It was stuck good, but he managed to get it off.

       A syringe popped out. His super senses comprehended it quickly and using his reflexes he caught it. He stared at it. PR² was on the vial. He removed the glass cap and sniffed the chemicals inside. He could catch a whiff of some torrephian acid, along with something he couldn't identify.

      He locked the cap back on and took a canister out of his jacket. The canister had a section designed to carry something chemical- like. It had been supplied by his contact. His real mission, however, was to kill Vince DeMeralès. Whatever the costs.

     That's why he couldn't let friendships or anything get in his way. Putting the canister away, he looked up into the foggy night sky. "Time to finish the mission."
