Tanners POV

I awoke to myself lying on the bathroom floor and immediately got up and checked around the house for Adelynn, but I knew, I just knew that they had taken her. I also turned off the shower, then I just sat there and cried. I was scared for her life. Who knows what they could've done to her, or what they would do to her. Or maybe they could've already killed her... No. You can't think like that I told myself, trying to hold onto whatever hope was left. I called the police and they came over within about 10 minutes. I explained everything that happened, and did my best to give them a description of him, although I couldn't really remember much. I just told them he was about my height, had brown hair and was about medium build. They also took DNA samples of the little bit of blood in the shower. I was hoping it was the guys, and not Adelynns. Then they just left and told me they would do everything they could to try and find her, but I knew the chances were low, as we didn't have much evidence to follow up on.

I didn't do anything the rest of the day. I just sat in absence, Adelynn consisting of all of my thoughts. Every second that went by was filled with guilt and worry, as I was scared for her life, and I kept on blaming myself for everything that happened. I could've saved her. I could've broken down that door earlier, I could've jumped out of the window when I had the chance, hell I could've just been in the shower with her. All of a sudden I heard a ring at the door, and I went down stairs to see who it was. As I opened the door I saw her parents, as well as mine and her sister, all waiting there with worried looks on their faces. I knew they had already found out what happened.

They came inside and we all just sat there together, praying and hoping that she would be alright. Mostly silence, except for some little small chat and sniffles from cries here and there. We all decided at some point we would all just stay at my house until things got sorted out, as we wanted to keep each other company.

It was about 11pm now and everyone was heading off to bed. I stayed up though, lying on my bed, eyes staring up at the ceiling. I couldn't fall asleep, and I'm guessing no one else was gonna get much sleep tonight either. Adelynn was still the only thing on my mind. I realized how much, and how often we take things in life for granted. I love her. I love her so much, and I would do anything just to see her laying by my side right now. To hear her soft breath, her heart beat thump against mine, looking into those beautiful brown eyes of hers. But I was scared I might not get to witness any of those things ever again.

All of sudden I hear a knock at the front door and immediately got up to go answer it, desperate for answers. I open the door to see one of Adelynns old friends, Mya, standing there. I was hit with a wave of shock at first, but then realized she probably just came over to say she was sorry or something. "Uh, hey" she said frantically. "Hi, so uh, what are you doing here Mya?" "Tanner, I have some news, I figured something out" "Yeah, and what might that be?" I said with such interest in my voice, I was so desperate for any answers or clues right now. "I think I found your kiddnapper"
