Adelynns POV

We continued to ride in the car, but I closed my eyes as soon I realized they were open, as I didn't want the guys knowing I was awake. I noticed the sun was starting to set, and thought of the time me and Tanner went to the beach only a couple of months ago.

Me and him are driving in his GTR on the way to the beach. I have my legs up on the dash, and I'm wearing a leafy print swim top, as well the bottoms to match them with jean shorts over them. We're just singing along to the blasting music, smiling, having a great time. The song playing is "Come as you are" by Nirvana, one of my favorites. The windows are down and I'm doing the hand wave outside the car, moving it with the beat of the music. He looks over at me and smiles, and I smile back at him. He puts his hand on my thigh, then grabs my hand and locks our fingers together; and we just stay like that for however long before we get to the beach. We finally arrive and get out of the car, then grab our towels and bags and begin walking over to the sand. We set our stuff down, I take off my shorts and spread out my towel and lay down on it to rest for a little while. All of a sudden Tanner picks me up bridal style and runs with me in his arms into the water. We both just laugh the whole thing off. We splash into the water and he throws me in, drenching my entire body. I get my head above the water and run my hands over my face. "Tanner, that was not funny!" I slap his chest in a playful way. "Oh you know you like it" he replies back with a smirk across his face. "Uh, no I don't" "Well I do" he grabs me by the waist and pulls my body up, wrapping my legs around his body, and we begin to kiss. We pull away after a minute or so and stare into each other's eyes, eventually looking at the setting sun, which we only now realized. "Wow, that's beautiful" I say. The sky was filled with a swirl of reds and pinks and oranges, all colliding together in a perfect way. "Not as beautiful as you" he says. I just smile and lean in to kiss him again. "I love you so much Adelynn" he says pulling away. "I love you so much too, Tanner" the rest of the time consisted of us splashing each other and swimming in the water. We just have the best time of our lives, loving each other and not having a single care in the world.

I was cut off by one of the guys speaking, and a thought came to mind. My collarbone is probably broken. Maybe these guys could take me to the hospital. I could escape. "H-hey, I think my collarbone is broken" the guy in the drivers seat immediately turned around to look at me, and he continued to do that, as if he was studying me in a way; seeing if I was lying or not. And at that moment I realized something. I've seen this guy before, my mind just couldn't place where, but I know for sure that I have; maybe somewhere from school, or at work possibly. The next thing that happened changed everything, forever. As the guy turned back around to face the drivers seat, we crashed into an oncoming car. At that last second I heard him gasp, and saw miraculous fear run through his eyes. I almost thought he was normal for that split second. Then impact happened. Glass shattered everywhere. Bodies were tossed and turned, contorted into seemingly impossible positions. I was thrown immediately forward, body facing the back of the seat in front of me. Agonizing pain ran through my entire body. We continued to swerve all over and eventually skidded out and came to a slowing stop. The first thing I realized was that I was alive. I was ok. I could escape, if only I gained enough strength to actually get myself up. I tried to push myself up with my arms and gained enough strength to get myself into a seated position, only to find that my head was all bloody upon touching it. I turned to look at the guys and they looked terrible. Blood was gushing down their faces, the guy who was riding shotgun had what looked to be a broken piece of glass lodged in his arm. And they both looked unconscious, possibly even dead, though, I hoped. I looked at the time on the car, it was 5:30, and the date was two days later! Two days! We could've been states away from California at this rate. I suddenly dropped that thought and worked on getting myself out of the car. I continued moving over to the door of the car on my butt and managed to get it open. All of a sudden the guy in the drivers seat started to moan something that slurred into what I could make out as "Stop". He was waking up. I suddenly used all the strength I didn't know I had before and scooted out of the car and started to limp away. I only made it a few steps before I fell to the ground and heard the guy scream, "Hey, stop right there!"
