Chapter 17: The ball

Marshall's POV

I woke up at 9 in the morning, floated down to the kitchen and grabbed an apple. While I was sucking the red out of it, I looked at my calendar and remembered that Gumwad was holding a ball tonight. I floated back up to my bedroom and got my clothes. A black vest, white shirt, red tie, black jeans and red boots. I haven't seen or called Fionna after yesterday. What happened? I hope she shows up at the ball.

Fionna's POV

"Tonight's the ball tonight's the ball tonight's the ball oh my glob I'm so excited!" I said rolling in my bed when Cake sat down at the foot of my bed.

"Ok baby, what kind of dress do you want me to make?" Cake asked.

"Whatever..." I said smiling and looking at the ceiling. Cake rolled her eyes. "Breakfast's already done, go downstairs if you wanna eat."She said while getting many pieces of long and blue cloth. Dark blue, sky blue, different kinds of blue. I climbed downstairs and ate my bacon pancakes.

The sewing machine's sounds were so loud and irritating. I can barely focus on the pancake. After I've finished my food, "Oh honey can you take out all the stuff which I put in a plastic bag earlier on my bed? It's for your hair and stuff." Cake said not moving her eyes away from the machine. I climbed back up, took out all the stuff from the plastic bag and put it on the dresser. Then I heard loud knocks on the treehouse's door. "Honey can you go get it?" Cake shouted from downstairs. "Ugh..." I grunted.  I was running up and down all morning. I opened the door and saw my cousins Netty and Sasha standing in from of me. "Hey Fionna!" Sasha greated me with a hug and Netty waved Hi with her paw and gave me a smile. "What are you guys doing here?" I said looking at the two teenage Mono-cats. "Oh Mom said she needed our help." Netty replied and I made way for them to enter our house. "Yeah I told them to help with your hair and makeup and stuff while I'm making the dress." Cake said, still focusing on making the dress.

"Let's get started! The ball starts at 7!"  The girls said and dragged me upstairs. "First, rinse yo hair and wash yo face." Sasha said and filled the tub with warm water and bubbles. They looked at me, wanting me to go it. "Um, I'm gonna...do I need to take off my clothes?" I said, a bit embarrassed if they were watching.

"Girl, chill. We're all ladies." Netty said and pushed me into the tub after I've finished taking off my clothes. Netty put some lavender scented shampoo and conditioner on my long blonde hair. At the same time, Sasha was cutting up something that sounded crunchy and later covered my eyes with them. "What was that?!" I asked, freaked out because I can't see. "Cucumbers. They'll help remove your eye bags a little."  Sasha said while munching some in her mouth.

After 15 minutes, I was able to see again and the girls put some face wash on my face and rinsed them off. "Yay! All done!" They high-fived and got a towel for me to cover myself up. I sat down at the dresser and Netty blow-dried my hair while Sasha was clipping my nails. "Wow, your nails are dirty. What have you been doing?" I wanted to answer but she stopped me "Ah, I remember. You're an adventuress. Silly me! It's ok, I'll help you clean off those dirt right away!" Sasha added. I looked at my nails, she was right. There were dirt inside the gaps. It was gross, but she made it sparkling clean. "Woah, I've never seen my nails so clean since I found and hired those crazy businesswomen. " I said and admiring my pretty nails. There were painted white lines at the tips of my nails. I looked at her with the expression 'What's that?' And Sasha answered "Oh, French tips. Pretty huh?" She said and I nodded.

I heard cutting sounds at the back. "Netty...what are you-" I didn't want my hair to be short again since I've met that crazy wizard dude. "It's only up to your waist. Relax" She answered and I felt relieved. She tied my haid up into a messy bun and they started with the makeup. Oh glob...
