Chapter 26 : Awaken

Fionna's POV

I woke up to find myself still in the pitch black space of my mind. Cold chills were sending down my spine, I felt empty, even though it was pitch black and I had nothing to worry about, I felt empty. Then I heard footsteps coming towards my direction.

"Who's there?" I asked and turned around. Suddenly a white skeleton showed up in front of me. It was Death.

"What are you doing here in my mind?" I asked and she chuckled. "Don't tell me you actually forgot about our deal."

Oh...that deal.

"So what will happen after you take my soul?" I asked her,  curious.  "You can't roam freely around glob world, kept by me, locked in a cage, something like that." She said.

I didn't want to leave early. I still have Marshall, Cake and other people that I love. They would be devastated. I can't leave, I won't.

"Can...we dely it?" I asked, a bit scared she might refuse. "Yea, sure." She said smoothly. I let out a relieved sigh but she continued. "A soul for a soul, you have to give me someone else'soul, someone you love."

"Wha-What!?" I said and stepped back. How could I possibly give the soul of someone I love to her. "A-Are there any other choices?" I stuttered. "Hmm...there is another soul in you." She said.

"Another what?" I asked. "Soul, another soul." She replied and I was confused. Her eyes sfarted to glow red and she came closer and pointed to my belly. "The other soul lies in here." She said and I looked at my belly. 'No way...' I thought. 

"You can give that to me." She said.

If I gave that baby's life up, I can live the rest of my days happily with Marshall and Cake.

"But on one condition." She said and raised a finger up. You will be broken, deep in your heart but you shall never blame me for this,

no matter how immense your hatred towards me grows. Understood?" Her eyes had flames coming out of them and she held out a hand for me to shake.

"Deal." I held out my hand shook hers. Suddenly the pitch black room became shiny and white, I couldn't see anything, and then I woke up.

I saw myself laying down on something soft and comfy, I checked the clock, it was morning. The curtains were all drawn, making the room dark. I felt a slight pressure on my hand and turned my head to look. Marshall was resting his head on my hand sleeping soundly. I didn't't know what happened and why I was here.

"Marshall, wake up." I shook my hand and he scrambled his eyes open. Then he looked at me with his eyes wide. He was startled for some reason and fell off his chair.

"Marsh? You ok?" I said trying to strech myself further to see how he was doing but I had no energy. "Gumball...I have to get Gumball! " He picked the chair up and got up then flew out the hospital in high speed before I could ask him what was happening.

Later, Gumball and Marshall barged into the room. "Fionna! I...I can't believe it! You're alive!" Gumball exclaimed, running towards me in his pajamas and without slippers. "Dude, why does it seem like you guys haven't seen me for a year or something?" I asked while chuckling and suddenly both of them frowned.

"Fi, you've been out for almost two weeks." Marshall replied.

"Wh-What!? What exactly happened?" I struggled to get up but my body's energy was all drained. They brought a chair for each of them and sat at the two sides of my bed and started telling me how it happened. I seemed like a little girl who was listening to a bed time story his daddy is telling her, but now they're telling me how I came back to life.
