"Well this was it then. At least we get to die together," Nathan said when the ship was making it's way to the ground. "God you're such a pessimist Nate," I joked.
"You think that Earth is actually survivable?""My father said there were some researches."
"And you believe that?"
"No, I think they just want more time to 'fix their problem'. But what I don't understand is why they just didn't float us all. Why put us all together in a drop ship towards Earth?"
Our conversation was put to a silence when the TV screen in front of us went on and the Chancellor, Jaha, appeared on the screen.
He began to speak and as much as I didn't want to hear what he was saying because I hated him that much, I still wanted to know what exactly was going on."Prisoners of the Ark, hear me now. You've been given a second chance. And as your Chancellor it is my hope that you not only see this as a chance for you, but also a chance for all of us, and indeed for mankind itself. We have no idea what is waiting for you down there."
I sighed. "Just what I expected. My dad indeed lied to me," I said to Nathan. "They are just sending us to our death so they have more time to live."
"Wow wow wow wait. What? What are you talking about?" Nathan asked me in confusion. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell Nathan about the problem.
"The Ark is dying Nate. There isn't much oxygen left anymore.""Shit man," was his only response.
Then something clicked in my mind."No wait. They are sending us to Earth to see if it is indeed survivable. They will come down after us when they notice we are still alive. Well, if we are still alive."
I listened further to Jaha's speech."If the odds of survival were better, we would've sent others. Frankly, we're sending you because your crimes have made you expendable."
I snarked at that comment. Nathan took a hold of my hand, he knows about my short temper and the rage I get in once I'm angry. I tried to listen further."Those crimes will be forgiven, your records wiped clean." Oh now they suddenly can forgive our crimes? Yeah right.
"Your dad's a dick Wells." I hear someone say. Wells is here too? Why would he send his own son, as far as I knew he didn't commit any crime. But hey what did I know? I didn't know Nathan got caught of his stealing too.
"The drop site has been chosen carefully. Before the last war, Mount Weather was a military base built within a mountain. It was to be stocked with enough non-perishables to sustain three hundred people for up to two years."
Sounds like we really needed to get there once we are on the ground. That is if we don't crash and the air isn't toxic or whatsoever. There are so many ways we could die right now.The drop ship continued to shake every now and then. "Spacewalker strikes again!" I hear a guy shout. I then see a guy floating around. I rolled my eyes at him. It's a stupid stunt he pulled to get out of his seat. He gets himself killed if he doesn't sit back right now.
"I might want to get back to your seat if I were you. Or do you want to die?" I said to him. Two other guys unbuckled theirselves out of their seats, gaping in awe of what the 'spacewalker' guy was doing.
"Have it your way then," I mumbled to the guys and then turned my attention away from them. I saw Nathan smirking at my comment from the corner of my eye.
"Your one responsibility is to stay alive." I hear Jaha say before the drop ship shakes again but this time it was worse. The three boys who were floating around, hurtle to the side of the dropship as the parachutes deployed. They rammed into a wall, a few pipes falling off.
