Thanksgiving Surprise

Lies

I can't believe that after all we've done together, she's leaving me.. Like seriously?! I mean, she just met him, what the heck?! I'm gonna kill him....

"Why Jess? Why? After all we've done together, after I brought Allie and Lizzy, you just met them..."

"I'm really sorry for dropping this on you last second..."

"Wait, what do you mean by last second?" Then I connected the dots,"YOU'RE LEAVING NOW?!?!" I'm sorry, I couldn't hold that in.... But why would she tell me last second? That's not like her, she tells me everything... Hmm.....

"Maybe.......... Yeah....."
I ran out of my room and down the stairs, past Allie and Lizzy, who had confused faces, and ran outside. I ran to my car and got inside, I reached inside my pockets for my keys and remembered I put them on the kitchen counter. UGH!! I have to run back in AGAIN!! I ran into the house, grabbed my keys and Jessica stopped me,

"What do you want Jessica?" I said with tears in my eyes. Allie and Lizzy were curious about what was happening and peeked over.

"I want you to stay. Look I'm sorry for dropping out on you like this but I have to go." Jessica said

"You mean like mom and dad left us, you mean like they didn't care about me? You mean that you have to go attend to your life, the one that doesn't care about me? Yeah that life." I said with tears down my cheek

Jessica moved away and I went back out to my car. I started the car and drove off.

(Flashback)

"Congrats sweetie!" Dad says

"Thanks Dad!" Jessica says,"Can we go and get some ice cream to celebrate?"

"Sure! Great idea!! Anything for you sweetie."
I grumbled with disbelief. I thought I was Dads favorite.. I run to the car and my mom chases after me, I stop at the car and my mom catches up.

"What's wrong?" Mom says

"Nothing." I say while wiping the tears coming down my cheeks. "I'm gonna head home.. See you there.."

I get into the drivers seat, start the car, and drive away. I stopped at the park and sat by my favorite tree. My dad helped plant the tree with me and other citizens when I was younger. We used to do a lot of things together.. And then when they adopted Jessica, my life flipped.

(Next day)

I woke up and it was raining outside. I washed up and went downstairs. My parents weren't sitting next to each other like they usually do, which means something bad is either happening or it happened already. My parents called Jessica and told her to come down. I waited downstairs for her and once she was down, they started talking,

"So um.. your dad and I have a surprise for you!! Jessica, you're going to Hawaii with us!!!" My mom said with excitement.

But what about me? I LOVE Hawaii!!! I storm up the stairs and slammed the door and tried to wake myself up thinking it was a dream.

(The trip to Hawaii)

I waved goodbye and they drove off. I just couldn't believe they were going on a trip and didn't bring me...

(A couple hours later on the news)

"We are just hearing about a plane crash in the Pacific Ocean!! Plane 10573!" OMG, OMG, OMG!!!! That my parents and Jessica were on!!!! OMG!!

"And hearing about only 5 survivors. Jessica Morgan, Lisa Populous, El Marco, Francisco Bartetello, and Bryan Chase. Apologies for other families. This is Chase Leung, with Chasing the Case."

But was Jessica alive? And how?
