The Alpha's Mate

Chapter Three

Joshua's P.O.V

The assembly ended soon after the teachers gave their speeches, we also had the raffle, it was fun to see people get all excited when they won something, personally I didn't win anything, Alpha Kane did, though, no surprise there. I thought it was cute, though since he won a stuffed plush wolf toy. The wolf was gray with a white stomach and blue eyes, it also had a small pink tongue that stuck out. Some girls were hanging on him and playing with the plush toy, he looked uncomfortable and my wolf was getting jealous, I forced him to calm down. If my own jealousy showed I'd be seen as an angry and disobedient Omega, I didn't want that.

I was in period 5 class at the moment, lunch was next, I was hungry and getting slightly annoyed with the people around me. I looked up at the clock, five more minutes, five more minutes and I would be eating lunch, then last period, then I'd get to go home. I looked up to Mr. Tyler as he went on about what it was like when he saw his mate for the first time after their mating was announced, today was a pretty relaxed day, we didn't have to do much work at all really, the entire topic of the day was mates and guesses for the next Luna, it got annoying quickly.

The lunch bell rang

Mr. Tyler looked at the time before smiling, "Alright everyone, I'll see you on Monday! Please enjoy yourselves at tonight's festival!" He smiled waving us out.

I reached down grabbed my laptop case and white binder before tucking my pencil behind my ear and pushing in my chair heading out. My art teacher was Mr. Tyler and as much as I thought art class was extremely useless it was honestly one of my favorite classes of all. I was also glad the art room was so close to the cafeteria.

Walking into the cafeteria I put my things down at the end of a small table that I would most likely sit at by myself, no biggie. I could use some alone time after the constant talking I had to endure.

I sat at my table and leaned against the side of the wall taking out my book and reading quietly to myself as they called people out to get their food. Every couple minutes I would hear the faint call of a group of people, first, it was Alpha Seniors then Alpha Juniors, Alpha Sophomores so forth. I stood slowly when I heard Sophomore Omega's and put my placeholder in my book before setting it down and quickly getting into line and grabbing a tray.

The line for Sophomore Omega's was long-ish, it wasn't too big but it definitely was one of the bigger lines there was. I went about my own business and grabbed a small amount of food, my stomach was still doing flips and I didn't feel all too well, I was going to try and attempt to eat anyways. We got towards the end of the line where you pay for your food and nibbled on my outer bottom lip giving the money to the lady and smiling softly to her with a small 'thank you' before going on my way. I hadn't noticed that the person in front of me stop and I crashed into them blushing in embarrassment as the person in front of me tripped up a little spilling their food.

"Crap, I'm so sorry," I say softly "I didn't mean to run into you, I just didn't see-" before I could finish my sentence the person put down their tray and gave a hard shove to my chest and I lost my balance falling backward. The only thing was, I didn't fall onto the floor, instead and made contact with the person behind me who helped me up gently. I looked at the guy who pushed me to see him looking over behind me in shock. I stood up straight and turned around slowly fear washing over me as I bow my head some in shame and submissiveness like a good 'puppy', it was none other than Kane, the next coming Alpha. He looked down to the of us both and I diverted my eyes somewhere else feeling guiltily.

He looked over to the male who pushed me, "I'd advise you not to put your hands on people and not touch the things at aren't yours," he said, his glare was deadly and I gulped in nervousness. My wolf was happily begging for the soon-to-be-Alpha's attention while I didn't wanna be seen by anyone.
