Gemini ~

(Dialogue in French or German)

'Wake up! Today, we start assessing whether you're good enough to become the assassin representing Switzerland for the agency!'

Gemini, who was number 29, woke up, alert. He'd been training for 10 years, for this agency (he didn't actually know the name because they never told), to become the assassin, from Switzerland.

He knew that there were other places like Bulgaria, China, Canada, USA, England, Italy, Russia, New Zealand, Germany, India and South Africa.

Gemini made his bed, knowing he would get an earful from the trainers, and he ran out the dorm into the courtyard.

Most had already lined up in order, and he found his place between 28 and 30. He only had to wait a few minutes before everyone was in line, and the last person to arrive got smacked on the head for being last.

'Okay as you know, 49 of you won't be alive in a few days. One, however, will have the privilege of representing Switzerland for the agency, and when you're 18 in three years you'll meet up with the other 11 assassins from Italy and shît. Anyways, today, we'll be assessing you on your swimming and running. Get changed into your bathers and see you at the pool in 5 minutes. Last 6 ones there will be forced to swim first.'

Gemini scurried to his dorm, and quickly changed into his swimming trunks and goggles, before running about 50 metres to the swimming pool where a few were already.

Once everyone had gotten there, the last six lined up at the start of the pool. Six trainers were at the end of the pool, with a stop watch to time.

'We'll be starting off with freestyle, then backstroke, breaststroke, then butterfly. Stay in your lines and lanes. Ready, set GO!'

Gemini watched as the six dived into the pool and swam to the end.

It wasn't long before he had to swim his last race, butterfly. He'd easily won all the other races, and was confident he'd win.

Too easy.

They were then made to go change into their sports clothes, before meeting at the track and field pitch (whatever you call it).

Gemini won the 100 metre sprint, 200 metre sprint and the 2km run.

'Good job 29,' the head trainer nodded at Gemini as he walked past.

The next days went in a blur, Gemini nearly winning everything he participated in, except for the high-jump challenge, but at least he came fourth in his group of 25.

On the last day, when the head trainer was going to announce the winner, Gemini was extremely nervous. He had no idea whether he was going to live, but he'd done well in most of his events.

'30, come to my office,' the head trainer beckoned 30 to his office. Gemini nearly fainted. He was going to die, in literally an hour, maybe less. He already saw 8, taking a run for it which was really dumb, before being shot in the back.

30 smirked at everyone else, before going into the office. For some reason, all the trainers were smiling at each other.

Were they really that happy 49 people were going to die tonight? Actually 48 because one had been killed already? thought Gemini.

But then there was suddenly a loud gunshot from the office. Gemini stared at the office, not sure what to expect.

The head trainer came out, carrying a limp, bleeding body on his shoulder.
