Alexis's POV
Breathing in I stepped into the small diner knowing there was no going back I was finally meeting my father. Every person I had ever met had learnt to accept that I'm not your average teenager. But then again I had only truly met six people everyone else was just a person I knew existed as much as I wish they didnt't. Let's just say I don't do people and leave it at that. Walking over to the booth in the far right corner I slid in placing my bag on the floor next to me.
Grabbing my phone and earphones from my pocket I plugged them in and pressed play on my one and only playlist. Night Moves by Bob Segar started playing drowning out the old country music the diner was playing. My fingers drummed the table in time with the beat only lightly as I didn't want to attract unnecessary attention to myself. I stopped drumming when I caught sight of waitress walking over to my table, pulling out my ear phones, I studied the waitress.
Her chocolate brown hair was pulled up into a bun, she wore an almost see through shirt and skimpy skirt. Rolling my eyes I looked up at her as she pulled out a notepad and pen.
"What can I get you miss?" She asked her voice was unnaturally high and sounded bored. Looking past her shoulder I decided that I may as well order because I never know how long it will take Melissa to get here even if I set a time limit, she was stubborn like that, she arrived when she wanted to. Never to late and never to early it was like she was her own clock telling her when to show up.
"Uh, just a water and a slice of apple pie." I answered watching her closely as she wrote down the order. Not because I thought she would get it wrong but because if you watch some of them don't bother writing it down so I watch to let them know what I expect from them. Ugh I sound like their boss. She nodded before walking away, turning off my phone I decided to listen out for Dean's voice instead realising he doesn't know what I look like.
A few minutes passed when Melissa walked in with two guys behind her. The tallest one had brown hair that reached his jawline, his eyes were a hazel colour with a hint of what can only be described as curiosity. He wore a light blue shirt and slightly faded jeans. His buddy looked older but was a few inches shorter, he had short dirty blonde hair that was slightly spiked. He had green eyes like mine, he wore a black shirt and jeans. His face displaying his annoyance.
Melissa had her black hair pulled up into a bun, her blue eyes were lit with curiosity and excitement. She had on her favourite pink sweatshirt and black jeans, she had on her black converses that I gave her for her birthday to finish it off. Automatically she started walking over to my table, every time we came here we would sit in the far corner to hide from view. Well so I could hide, Melissa enjoys talking to people, strangers even.
As soon as she started heading over to me the men followed, a small smile was set on her face as she talked to the taller one it was funny watching her look up to him seeing as was much taller. The shorter one stared at me from across the room his face softened lightly, looking away from them I thanked the waitress who distractedly placed my order on the table. I followed her gaze to the shorter man. Rolling my eyes I took a long sip from my glass of water.
The cold water ran down my throat soothing the lump that had started to form. It wasn't that I was scared to meet my Dad and Uncle but the fact that I didn't know what the letter said and I was hoping that I could hide my DNA for a little while. Until I knew I could trust them and that I didn't have to hide everything, basically what I'm saying is until I can see them as I saw my mum. Caring and trustworthy. Until then they won't know
It didn't take long for Melissa to slide in next to me, followed by the men. Looking over at Melissa I raised an eyebrow. her mouth formed an 'o' as she sat up straighter to introduce me.
"This is Dean and Sam Winchester they're here looking for the person who rang them. I ran into them quite literally and asked if they needed help they looked lost. Sam over here," she gestured to the taller one, my uncle and smiled slightly, "said they needed to find the person who had a certain phone number. That number was yours so I told them they could tag along with me seeing as you told me to meet you here. So yeah." She explained really quickly.
Shaking my head at her I looked over at Dean and Sam who were both studying me. Sticking out my tongue like a two year old I brought their attention back to the conversation. Dean opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by Sam.
"Are you okay? For someone who just lost their mother your holding up fairly well." He asked his hazel eyes became dull with the weight of our conversation. As if he knew something I didn't, a memory he rather not talk about. Melissa looked over at me her face contorted into a look of shock, did I mention I didn't tell her the whole my mum is dead thing. Oops.
"Yeah about that Melissa. Mum you know passed away this morning and I was told to find these two and bring you with me." I muttered holding her teary eyed gaze. Mum was like the mother Melissa never had. The connection they shared was more then the foster parents could ever hold for her. She closed her eyes a few tears fell down her cheeks, I pulled her into a side hug knowing how much she would appreciate it.
Keeping my arm wrapped around her shoulder I looked back over at Dean and Sam. A small smile was set on Sam's face, Dean had a blank face much like my own. The waitress appeared a smile placed on her face. She focused Dean looking him up and down much like he was doing to her. Honestly if this is how mum and Dean met, I feel disgusted at the fact I could be a consequence of a one night stand I wonder if he knows I exist.
"What can I get you?" She asked her voice no longer bored. Rolling my eyes I watched as Sam did the same most likely disgusted with his brothers actions.
"I'll have a water and a slice of apple pie" Dean answered smiling a her. Sam cleared his throat gaining her attention automatically earning a scowl from her.
"I'll have a water and salad, Melissa will have the same." Sam answered just as Melissa sat up. The waitress wrote them down as I watched her the whole time like I said I'm careful. With one last look at Dean she walked back over to the main section of the diner to get their food.
"So you are a rabbit too?" I asked looking at Sam I didn't think it was possible for two people to come to a diner and order salads. What is wrong with them? Dean looked at me curiously which turned into a smirk when he looked at Sam.
"See I'm not he only person who thinks so." Dean said smartly, clearing my throat to gain his attention. I smiled sweetly.
"You my friend aren't any better, my heels are higher then your standards." I said gesturing to my combat boots which conveniently didn't have heels. His face dropped into a look of shock as Sam burst out laughing. Dean glared at Sam causing Melissa fall into a fit of giggles. " Also I have a letter for you." I finished speaking over the laughing dorks. Reaching over the table I gave him the small envelope that had his name written on the front.
Please don't mention genetics, I pleaded in my head as he slid his thumb under the back and pulled out his note from mum. Here we go.
