JEFF POV
I gritted my teeth and grabbed my knife. I stepped in front of Raven, ready to protect her. I knew it. That boy wasn't able to trust. We watched in terror as he bit in the beating heart that was hanging half out of his mouth. This was disgusting. It is enjoyable to do if it was dead already, but this... This sickened me. He came closer. The boy was still a lion, but changed into human when he got closer to us. He was the same as Raven... They where both half animal half human.
''I thought that we would meet again at twelve o' clock? Eh?'' He spat. Raven backed down. We both knew that he was stronger than the both of us, so fighting him would not make any sense.
''We where out for a hunt. Aren't you supposed to protect the people instead of killing them?'' Raven hissed. Damn. Stupid! She only made the boy angrier. He was making a weird sound while breathing as he pushed me again. He grabbed Raven and pushed her against the wall. His face came close to hers. He was whispering something that I could not understand. I stood up. My knife fell on the ground too, so I grabbed it and patted my hoodie so the dust fell off of it. I could hear them better now.
''Do we have a deal?''
''No.''
''Come on girl. You don't have another choice do ya'?'' A smirk was on the boy his face. He placed his lips on her forehead. It disgusted me. When I wanted to stab him he was gone already. He jumped out of the window and ran away, changing into a lion again. He was fast. Way too fast. I turned around to see Raven. She was looking down steadily. Damn, I wanted to know what he said to her. I grabbed her shoulders tightly.
''Are you okay?'' I whispered concerned.
She nodded. Liar. She was shaking like hell. I growled and hugged her tight. Stupid liar. I didn't like liars. She did hug me back what gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling. I didn't feel like this in three years. It felt great. After a few seconds she'd broke the hug because of the sound of sirens. That boy must have called the police. I groaned, and took her hand.
''Lets flee.'' I sighed and pulled her with me out of the window. We landed on our feet and we ran back to the forest. I don't know for how long we where running, only a minute or five but it felled like way longer. We got at a clearing, and sat down under a huge oaktree. Raven was quiet the whole time... What was she thinking about? She closed her eyes and gritted her teeth.
''What?'' I sniffed.
No answer. Damn.
''Raven... What did he say?'' I started to growl at her. Her eyes gazed up to me, and she started to smile. I sighed as she scratched her head.
''At midnight I must meet him and bring him my necklace...'' She grabbed it and closed her eyes. Her head was resting against the tree.
Was she really going to do that? She could not. She wasn't that stupid, was she?
''You've got to be kidding me. And you are going to do that?''
''Of course not you idiot.'' She started to laugh. I let out a sigh.
''Good.''
''But I am going to meet him at midnight. I need an ax or scythe, maybe someone knows how to handle with one?'' She smirked. Almost everyone.
''I can.'' I was lying. I couldn't. I was terrible with an ax and scythe.
''Awesome! Can you please teach me?''
''Why don't you just use that friggin' wolf thing?''
''Because he is a lion. I am a wolf. He is way more powerful than I am.''
