So this is an interview with the amazing writer, rotXinXpieces (Rotty) If you haven't checked out their stories then go do it right now! You won't be disappointed because they are so good!

Okay, let's begin.

****

Djordi: What was the first novel you ever wrote?

rotXinXpieces: The first novel ever? Mm, I can't remember the name of it, but it was a supernatural romance. Sadly, I lost all four books of the series when my first desktop crashed.

Djordi: How long have you been writing? Why do you write?

rotXinXpieces: I've been writing since I was about 5-6. I started writing mainly because playing pretend wasn't keeping up with my imagination. I also loved having my mother read to me at night, so it seemed like a great way to combine my favourite things at the time. Now I do it because, well, it's all I can do and all I enjoy doing.

Djordi: Why do you write LGBT?

rotXinXpieces: The LGBT+ community needs more people to notice it, and not just for having depressing books or half-assed attempts at teen smut. It needs real genuine feelings, situations, thoughts. And it should be taken more seriously.

Djordi: So you've written from a variety of genres before, why is this? Do you have a favourite?

rotXinXpieces: I feel that to improve myself as a writer, it's good to tinker around with different genres and styles. It gives me a chance to experience different ways of writing. I do, however, love supernatural romance. Love reading them, writing them, hording them. It's an addiction lol.

Djordi: Do you fully plan out a story when you begin writing one or just go with the flow?

rotXinXpieces: I plan a very basic outline. I'll go in thinking, "I want this to be a vampire story... about a vampire who solves crimes." and I start with that, or I'll have a single scene in mind and write until I get to that scene and then extend beyond it. Basically: I go with the flow.

Djordi: How long does it take you to complete a story?

rotXinXpieces: Hmm, between school and personal things, maybe a few months? The longest it's ever taken me was six months and that's because the book was into the sixties in terms of chapters.

Djordi: Which one of your characters do you like the most or relate to best?

rotXinXpieces: Probably Hannibal and Menoetius. Those two hold a special place in my heart. Hannibal is very good at showing up right when I need him, and Menoetius and I have a lot in common.

Djordi: Where do you come up with ideas? What inspires you?

rotXinXpieces: Honestly, I get inspiration from everywhere. Music, smells, sounds, the weather, a book, a painting. It's all got something that I could take away in terms of inspiration. Generally, if I get an idea, I start building on it a little as I'm writing. It sounds sorta crazy, but I just feel like the character is showing me their life, showing me what's happening. Like they just took my hand and dragged me into this whole new world. And from that journey, I write.

Djordi: Did you plan for your Moonstone series to be, well, a series? Or did you just start with one book and then decide to continue?

rotXinXpieces: I had no idea the Moonstone series was gonna go on so long, actually. A friend of mine from Wattpad talked to me about giving mpreg a shot, maybe add werewolves in for fun, so I decided why not? And I intended to just write one book, but when I wrote a whole series, we were both kinda like "whoa holy crap that kinda blew up sweet". I loved meeting the characters so much and wanted to know more, so more books followed.

Djordi: What's your favourite story that you've written?

rotXinXpieces: Ah snap, that's a hard one. Probably Incubus or Lords of the Underworld. I had so much fun with both of those for different reasons. Incubus gave me the chance to work on my style, to tinker with a more descriptive way of writing, and to create my own personal world. Lords of the Underworld was just incredible because I had no idea there was so much behind Hades. I assumed he was just what everyone else thought he was; a cold heartless jerk. Turns out, he had a whole story to tell and it was really enlightening.

Djordi: Outside of Wattpad, what's your favourite books or authors? Do they influence your writing?

rotXinXpieces: Oh gods, now you've done it, haha. Well, my two favorite authors of all time are Sherrilyn Kenyon and J.R. Ward. I own all their published works and have reread them like a thousand times. I am especially in love with J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series. She's bold and confident and it really shows in her work, especially in her book Lover At Last, which follows a gay couple. It's hard to come across a well articulated homosexual romance like this because some authors are kind of hesitant, afraid even, that they're doing something wrong, or that it's just too graphic, but not Ward. Oh heck no, she knows what she's doing and she's doing it. I think that's the kind of writing I want to strive for. I don't want to be afraid to write something. I want to be proud of it, like she's proud of her work.

Djordi: Do you want to have your books published some day in a paperback copy or are you happy to just stay on Wattpad?

rotXinXpieces: Honestly? I think I'm too afraid right now to publish. I keep telling myself to try, but frankly I feel that perhaps I'm not ready yet. I need to feel more confident with myself before I try publishing. Besides, right now, I am perfectly happy posting online for people to read whenever, to give me the feedback I need to improve.

Djordi: Have you ever lost all inspiration for a story and wanted to delete it? Did you end up deleting it or finishing it?

rotXinXpieces: Oh yeah, this happened very often when I was in high school. I started several books, and never finished them. A couple of them were lost when my desktop crashed, so I gave up on them, and a few I realised were just too ridiculous for me to continue, and then there were some where I had to take a break because there wasn't enough going on and I got bored. As of right now, I don't like the idea of deleting stories. I feel like I'm losing friends that way, in terms of the characters, and I owe it to them to continue. So I put things on hold until I feel I am ready to return, and I plan to rewrite them instead as my writing improves every time I write.

Djordi: Do you have any new story plans for this year?

rotXinXpieces: So far, nothing I plan to post on Wattpad. I want to work on what I have posted, rewrite, edit, polish it and make it shine. I do want to do a personal project in hopes that maybe it will encourage me to get my work into the publishing world. If it doesn't work out, I may post it to Wattpad instead.

Djordi: Well good luck on that project. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this interview, I love your stories so much! Is there anything you'd like to say to your readers out there?

rotXinXpieces: Oh, absolutely! I had a lot of fun! And yeah; I want to thank my readers for reading and enjoying my work. I know I say this a lot, but I feel like words aren't enough to express how grateful I am that they take the time out of their day to read my work. Nobody read my work for years. When I used to ask people to, they'd get so fed up and straight up tell me they didn't want to read it. I was alone in my little world. And now I have so many people joining me on these adventures because they genuinely want to, because they're having as much fun as I am. It really means so much to me. So thank you to my readers, seriously, I'm not sure where I'd be right now if it weren't for you and my babies. Much love xoxoxo
