"Honey go get the other boxes" my mom says smiling at me. I nod walking over to my car, I drove from sunny California to cold, rainy, depressing, Washington. The state that is.
My name is Elizabeth, Elizabeth Price. My mom's name is Cara Woods, my father died in Afghanistan ten years ago.. I was seven.
My mom just remarried to a man name Allen Woods, good man... Dark secrets.
He isn't human, he said my mom was his mate. And she believed him, I didn't... till he showed me.
It was the most horrific sight in my life, worse then seeing my fathers corps in a casket to be laid in the ground forever. My fears, all of my fears, came to life.
Yet I'm calm around Allen, he's nice. Though if he ever gets angry I will cut off a limb.
They're newly weds, so we're moving into Allen's huge ass house. He apparently is an alpha, meaning the pack leader.
He is the leader.... And my mom rules by his side now.

Later on I got comfortable in my room, sitting on my bay window seat reading novels. I am pretty silent, I only talk when I need to.
I like to take in the beauty, rather then posting it on social media like most teens my age.
My mom says I'm an introvert, I don't disagree. I plan on leaving anyway, no use to make friends.
"Lizzy! Come down here so we can eat!" My mom yelled at me from the bottom of the stair case. I sighed closing "War & Peace".
I set it down beside me and walked out of my room down the fuzzy stair case.
I walked to the dining room, Luca, My mom, and Allen all already at the table.
Luca is my step brother, Allen didn't think he would find his mate so he adopted Luca. He needed a new alpha and he got it.
I walked to the table and sat down, once my plate was full my mom cleared her throat. "Lizzy.. Me and Allen have been talking and well.. Instead of going to a human school, we think you should go to the local werewolf school" Allen cleared his throat "Shifter school, not uh- not werewolf". My mom blushed and laughed awkwardly "Oh", I was in shock. "But I'm human" I said dumbfounded "Yes we know, but we want to make sure you're safe". I sat back in my seat just... Shocked, I'm going to school with mythological creatures. This is insane, how is anything like this real? Luca choked on his drink. "Her? In shifter school? She tripped on my pencil. My PENCIL how the hell is she gonna survive with a bunch of shifters on steroids?" Allen glared at Luca. But he was, I am just a human. I don't heal fast, I wear GLASSES.
I'm gonna die.
Dear god, if you're up there,
save me.
