Maggie Kaminski Part 2

I woke up ready for a new day of school. To be honest, I was completely over Percy by now. I got up, slipped a light blue top in and some jeans and then headed down stairs. I ate a bowl of cereal and then headed out the door.

I walked to Goode because I lived really close. I looked down at my schedule and then walked off to English.

(Time lapse, lunch) 

I took a seat next to my friends and began eating my lunch when all of a sudden, an ear splitting scream arupted from the table next to me. I looked over and almost fainted. A giant horned cow monster thing was scouring the cafateria looking for someone. His eyes landed on me. I got up and ran. And I ended up running right into Percy. 

"What is that thing!" I screamed. Percy grabbed me by the arm and ran me all the way to his old beat up Pirus. Percy didn't answer. 

"Maggie, you have to trust me!" Percy said worridly. I followed him into the car. Let me just say, I had never seen anybody drive as fast as Percy did. I looked behind us. The monster was following us and he was gaining. 

"That stupid minatour." I heard Percy mumble. We continued to play a game of cat and mouse with the minatour, swerving and speeding up until we arrived at a tall hill where a giant pine tree stood grand and tall. 

"Come on." Percy yelled. We bolted up the hill as the minatour followed us. Percy turned around and he now held a sword in his hand. The minatour began to charge. Percy didn't move. 

"Percy move!" I screamed. Then at the last second, Percy side stepped and slashed the minatour into a pile of dust. 

"Go to tarturaus and stay there!" He growled. I followed him up the hill and looked along the horizon. 

different buildings were placed all along the valley. People in bright orange shirts ran throughout the hills. My thoughts were inturruppted by Percy's gasp. I looked up and saw a bight hovering shape hanging above my head. Then Percy spoke. His voice faultered.

"All hail Maggie Kaminski, Daughter of Poseidon."

(A couple days later)

To be honest, it was truely embarrissing that I had once had a crush on my brother. A girl with black spikey hair walked over to me."Yup, I can definately see the resemblance." The girl with black spikey hair commented. She wore a silver jacket with camoflauge pants and a 'Barbies Die' t-shirt. Apparentely she was a part of some elite hunting group known as the hunters of Artemis. 

"So, is she good with a bow?" The girl asked. Percy nodded. Then the girl with black hair turned to me.

"Ya know, we could use someone like you on the hunt would you like to join?" The girl asked me. I was in shock. I honestly didn't know what to think. Deep breathes Maggie I told myself. Then I thought it through. Immortality. Boy free. Stay young forever. Silence echoed over the valley. 

"Um, I-I guess." I said. The girl with black hair smiled. 

"Good, well than Maggie, welcome to the hunters of Artemis, I'm Thalia." 

I smiled back in reply. 

"Now you have to say the pledge, repeat after me." Thalia added. "I say  your name." 

"I Maggie," 

"Pledge myself to the goddess Artemis," 

 "Pledge myself to the goddess Artemis," 

"I turn my back on the company of men," 

 "I turn my back on the company of men,"   

"Accept eternal maidenhood and join the hunt!"

 "Accept eternal maidenhood and join the hunt!"  I repeated.

A sense of youth and relaxation washed over me. I felt like a completely new person and I was ready to start a new life.
