One last smile
before the camera stops
One last whisper
before the rhythm drops.
The world is still
Even dusk stops to watch
the crimson glory
all suddenly blotched
the stars weave their colours
behind the stony clouds
Where the wild creatures
cry and howl
Wilted petals
on concrete ground
I never see you
But you're all around
Trust no one
Don't count on love
Why leave me hanging
the middle of-
Silicon flowers
Fluorescent nights
There's no real warmth
under camera lights
Rosy cheeks
Melancholy eyes
Hide under a mask
on stormy nights
Empty promises
Sweet regrets
Haunt me
until my cheeks are wet
Back on my feet
crowds usher on
All happy endings
sound so wrong
Hum me the words
of an old love song
Before
The wretched world moves on
