Alexia's POV
I felt a tap on my shoulder as I dug around my backpack looking for my phone.
"What do you want?" I asked whoever was behind me.
"To take you on a date tomorrow." I instantly recognized the voice and turned around.
"I'm sorry Caleb! I would go but I have to work on Mrs. Levers English assignment." I joke with him.
"Seriously! What is up with that bogus move?" Caleb instantly turned to the assignment. "I wish she would have announced that we had an assignment first so I would have listened to the grammar rules she gave."
Caleb and I had become friends during the start of the school year after we did a group project together. We had hit it off right away, and now in October, we were like best buds.
"That's why you pay attention the whole class period. Maybe if you hadn't been staring and Thalia the whole class period that wouldn't have happened." I stick out my tongue and laugh.
"Whatever, can I copy your notes?" He asks me, I hand him my notepad and he sits on the bench and begins to write it all down. "Anyways, Thalia means nothing compared to you." He jokes with me. We're only friends, but he loves to joke about me being his girlfriend.
"Sometimes you are so romantic I want to kiss you," I tell him genuinely. "By slapping you."
Caleb puts his hand over his heart, he's so dramatic. "Do you only want to do that for me, or is it all guys?" He asks me. I roll my eyes.
"Just you," I tell him, but instead of responding the way I thought he would he does something totally different.
"They I will gladly be slapped by you anytime." He smiles charmingly. "Just make sure you do it at the right time. I want the slap to be special."
Before I could even reply he was standing up and handing me my notepad. "See yah on Monday Alexia!" As he walked off to his bus he turned around. "I would've worn the maroon converse today if I were you."
As if he knew style. My school didn't have the strictest dress code, but they made everyone wear shirts with collars, the bottoms couldn't have holes in them and had to be below the knee. Honestly, the only thing you could dictate was your shoes, and sweatshirt of a hoodie. So I chose to express myself with shoes. Always wearing converse, and the only thing that changed was the color. I was wearing black ones today, and he was crazy if he thought I was going to listen to him on fashion advice.
When I got on my bus I sat down next to my best friend.
"Hey, Kenzie." She looked up at me from her phone.
"What took you so long? Nick tried to sit next to me again!" I looked back at Nick who smiled and waved.
"Why don't you just go on a date with him! You know you've had a crush on him since he moved in the house across from yours." I told her. "And that was in sophomore year. It's our senior year! All you guys do is date other people to make each other jealous! And you're both single right now, so date him."
"That's not the point!" Kenzie told me. "If he thinks that sitting next to me on the bus is going to make me love him he's wrong." She flipped her gorgeous wavy brown hair behind her." I'm going to make Nick earn it. Or else I don't need him."
The bus stopped. "Bye." I told her as I got off at my stop. I turned around while getting off to see Nick move up and sit next to her. They were something else.
