Chapter 8 ~ Kissing

Hey anyone out there... so I haven't updated in a while and decided that I should so here goes!

Alexia's POV

The kickball game had been a lot of fun for the most part. I had so much fun watching Nick try his hardest to impress Kenzie, and at the same time, Kenzie tried her hardest to pay as much attention to James. She made it so hard on herself, in the end, our team won because of all Nick's hard work. Honestly, Thalia almost made us lose, and was constantly asking Caleb for help whenever she could. I wasn't jealous though, right?

Kenzie's POV

After everything was cleaned up at the park Nick offered to let everyone come to his house since his parents are out of town for now. So now I'm sitting in a car going to his house to play games. This is just great...

Alexia's POV

"So, what are we going to play?" I asked the group trying to get their opinion on the matter. It's kinda awkward, everyone mumbling ideas. Finally, James says an idea that everybody's mind had already jumped to.

"Let's play truth or dare."

"Okay!" Caleb agrees, and since it's his birthday who am I to say no? So we get in a circle on the floor. James is sitting on one side of Caleb, and Thalia is on the other. I'm sitting beside James, mostly because for some reason Thalia annoys me, and I don't know why.

"Who's going first?" Nick asks the Caleb. "Your birthday, your call." Caleb smiles, his adorable smile.

"Does anyone want to volunteer?" Thalia's hand shoots up.

"I'll go!" Of course she will, not that I wanted to go. "Caleb truth or dare?"

"Dare" He looks around the room, as Thalia thinks of a good dare.

"I dare you to kiss the girl closest to you." Thalia tells him.

"Um, sorry but Thalia you're the closest girl to him." Kenzie tells her. "I know you probably didn't realize," She totally did. "But you can't dare anyone to specifically doing something to you. So you could say kiss the prettiest girl, but not the girl closest to you." Thalia's face starts to turn kind of red. "Don't worry you can still keep your dare he'll just kiss the next closest girl, which is Alexia." Kenzie says all of this really sweetly, but all of the sudden my heart drops when she says my name. I can't just kiss him! Or have him kiss me!!

"She can change her dare!" I comment, "She didn't know our rule." Everyone looks kinda convinced until Kenzie speaks up again.

"But that would mean she dared Caleb to kiss her! Yah?" She asked Thalia who is turning redder my the minute.

"No!" Thalia speaks up. "I just assumed it would go to the next closest person..." She smiles, and her natural color goes back.

"Let's do it." Caleb talks for the first time since Thalia dared him. He leans over and kisses my cheek.

"WHAT?" James asks puzzled. "The cheek???"

"Thalia never specified." Caleb gives an easy answer. Part of me is relieved, but the other part hates that he didn't kiss me.

"I'm sorry! But we all know what she meant!" Kenzie interupts again! "Kiss her for real!"

My face is red for sure, but it doesn't matter. Caleb leans in and I follow suit. He gives me a quick kiss, but it was a kiss. As we pull away my heart is pounding fast, and I don't know why.
