"Your power runs deeper than I thought..." trails Dr. Tyledi.
Damien just sits quietly, looking shocked and surprised. I don't know just what to do.
Dr. Tyledi asks, "Can you control it?"
"No. It only happens when I get worked up."
"Maybe we can find someone to help."
"Or I can just practice...I doubt there are many here like me."
"Alright. Go on to your quarters, now, and practice. Both of you."
Damien speaks up. "We don't have rooms. We've only been in the hospital."
"Really?" The twins nod. I know what he'll say. He'll call someone to get them hotel rooms or something, leaving the hospital rooms empty.
Don't make her leave me here. Stay close a little longer.
"Well, I'll get Carlina to book you two some rooms at our guest house and give you a tour." Tyledi picks up his old fashioned phone and dials a number.
On speakerphone, a voice comes through the static. "Tyledi? Ugh, I wish you would just use the stupid Autone!" answers Carlina.
I've met her before; she's a spit fire girl I grew up with, my best friend. She was the first to know about Naomi, I told her before she woke up. What a huge mistake.
"Carlina, I need you down here."
"Can't you do it yourself?"
"No, I'm busy."
"Whatever. I'll be right down." Tyledi smiles and shakes his head. He was like a father to Carlina; her parents died three years ago when she was twelve, and he took her in under his wing.
She's two years younger than me, but she has the power to put me in my place and embarrass the hell out of me.
A few minutes later, Carlina is heard grumbling and coming through the hall to the room. "2120 and we still don't have elevators in this stupid place."
"Ah! Carlina, you finally bless us with your presence," jokes Tyledi.
"What did you need again?"
"I wanted you to book these two in our guest house and maybe give them a tour." Tyledi gestures to Naomi and Damien.
She turns and looks at Damien. "Hi there," she says in a low voice, trying and failing to be sexy. Damien turns red and Carlina catches sight of Naomi holding back a smile. "So what are your names?"
"I'm Naomi, and that's Damien."
"The Naomi? I've heard so much about you. Take care of that idiot, will you? Make sure he doesn't get into too much trouble," she tells her. Naomi bursts out laughing.
I smile, blushing. I've never seen her laugh. Please don't leave.
"Come on guys. I'll take you on a tour."

I wasn't sure about her; Carlina. I mean, she was beautiful, in an uncertain way.
Short curly hair formed something of a mane around her head, sort of like River Song from Doctor Who, Mother's favorite show. She was a small thing and looked frail, but somehow I didn't quite buy that.
Carlina looked like she could take me down.
She had narrow shoulders, a hooked nose and small but full lips. She wore a pinstriped suit and black heels, and her make-up free face was somehow flattering. She had fire in her brown eyes.
When she spoke, she talked fast and seemed like she had an answer to everything, mostly sarcastic. I even detected a hint of sass in her voice.
As we followed her up and down various streets, she pointed out the different shops and houses, not really much of a tour. We reached the guest house and that was when she haggled us a deal.
"Gary," she snapped her fingers.
The man behind the large desk sighed. He had hair on only two sides of his head, but not quite grey yet. He wore an ugly green vest. "Yes Carlina? What now?"
"Can you book a couple rooms, cheapest price?"
"Shouldn't you be off catering to that nut job with sympathy?"
"Look, I'm trying to be nice but-"
"But failing as always?"
"You don't want to get into this with me right now."
"Oh, but I do."
Carlina took a breath and closed her eyes, finally having enough. She snapped her head up and snarled, "Shouldn't you be out with your girlfriend? Oh, wait..."
"At least I have a life."
"I have a life!"
"Oh yeah, I forgot. You have two." Carlina turned red with rage.
Two?
"Rooms. Cheap. Now!" Gary scoffed and tossed her some keys. We take the keys and don't move.
"Come on," she says moving past us and knocking over a vase on Gary's desk. "Oops."
