[UNEDITED CHAPTER]
Amelia Canfield ~
'See you at school then!' I said, hanging up the phone.
It was 10 pm. I took a shower and went to sleep thinking about how my first day of senior year would be.
'Bye mom!'
'Enjoy your day, dear!' Mom said as I walked out.
My dad had died when I was little and since then, Mom had been having a really hard time looking after the house, me and her work. She works at a music shop, which is owned by an uncle.
When I reached school, Carly was at the gate waiting for me.
'Hey! Sorry to keep you waiting! ' I apologized.
'No problem!' she replied, smiling as we walked inside and headed to our lockers.
My locker was at the beginning and hers was a few lockers away from mine..
'Have a good day everyone!' Mr Stephen said, walking out of through class.
'I didn't understand a single word of what he said except for ''Have a good day everyone"' Carly said, as we gathered our things.
'Same here!' I said, laughing.
'Shall we grab a bite from the school cafeteria?' I asked, as we headed for our lockers.
'Sure! I'm starving!' she replied.
We went to the cafeteria, bought our food and sat down at one of the empty tables.
'The food's not so bad.' Carly said, munching on some fries.
All of a sudden, the girls present around us started murmuring that the basketball players were heades this way. Surely, after a few minutes, the players entered the cafeteria making the girls go crazy over them. The effects of not seeing them over the holidays. The girls became wilder when Nathan Scott, the captain entered.
The basketball players were the most popular guys at school as they had made history for the school by not losing any of their games till date.
Nathan Scott was more popular because on top of being an amazing basketball player, he was also amazing in studies. Combine that with his good looks and cool attitude, it would be hard for anyone to not like him.
They sat down at the second table on my left, cracking jokes snd laughing loudly. But Nathan just sat there with a happy smile on his face, occasionally letting out a laugh. Though he was really popular, Nathan was also known to be silent and a bit reserved, though he was friendly.
Soon, the bell rang and people started moving around, taking their things and going to their respective classes.
I didn't have this class with Carly so I had to go alone. It was on the other side of the building and to my great luck, I had only five minutes before classes started.
I raced down the stairs and nearly fell down. Turning around the last corner to my class, I bumped into someone and fell backwards, hitting the back of my head on the wall.
At first, I couldn't recognize who the person was as my vision was a bit blurred from the dizziness that I felt. The person bent down and helped me to stand up. That's when I realized that it was... NATHAN SCOTT!
'You okay?' he asked, looking at me as I was rubbing my sore head.
'It stings a bit, but I'll be fine.' I replied with a small smile.
'Sorry!' he said guiltily.
'No... its not your fault, its actually mine. I should have been more careful.' I said.
