Clary watched as Sebastian, back to her sneered at Jace, Jace's eyes had lost his gleam with his shoulders slumped in defeat he said,

"Let her go guys. At least she will survive." Everyone turned sideways towards Jace and stared in shock and disbelief, even Jocelyn who didn't like Jace much couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"Jace, how can you even say that. After all we have been through your just going to give up?" Isabelle asked in horror.

"It's the only way." Jace said utterly defeated.

With not one once of hope left in him, he finally looked up and directly into Clary's eyes for what seemed the last time and finally what seemed like an eternity said,

Jonathon looked at Clary and said his first and last words, "Thank you, he burned out my humanity but you restored it..."

With a smile on his lips Jonathon took his last breath, with a wound to the stomach that could never be healed he died.

Then, in a movement so fast she almost missed it, the black poison like liquid crept back into his body and anchored into his soul.

"You tried but trying didn't change anything." Sebastian proclaimed to everyone's dismay.

Clary stared up in horror where Sebastian stood and took her into his arms pushing his lips to hers, making their body's float in the dark realm proclaiming them as Queen and King.......
