Gajeel x Reader: Nightmare

(Y/n) pov

You, Gajeel, Levy and Jet (Droy was too lazy to go) were running from a dark guild that had immense magic power. Unknowingly we went on the mission and the guild hall only realized it was an S class mission after we got to the dark guild.

"Keep running! We can't handle them there's too many!" Gajeel  yells

"Jet, take Levy far away from here!!" You demand

"But we can't just leave you guys!" Levy yells

"We'll be fine, Jet take her!" You yell. He nods and speeds to take Levy somewhere far away.

"(Y/n) they're catching up and I don't think we can run forever! We'll just have to hold them off!" He said with worry in his voice

"Fine but you better not die on me" you state seriously

"I'll be fine! I'm more worried about you right now!" Gajeel yells through all the commotion. Then all the dark wizards surround you. You guys were able to take out a few but it was never enough.

"(Y/n) get out of the way!!" You hear Gajeel yell

A spear was sent flying your way until the very last minute Gajeel stepped in front of you and took the hit. You watched as the spear went straight through his stomach. You blinked in disbelief and in slow motion he fell to the group.

"GAJEEL!!" You start to sob "Gajeel please please don't die on me!! I love you too much you have to stay awake." You say hopefully.

"Hey stop crying, I hate seeing you cry." Gajeel says while trying to keep his breath steady.

"Gajeel I can take you back to the guild, you just have to stay awake!!!" You say with tears pouring down your face.

He puts his hand on your check "you were always so stubborn. (Y/n) never forget I love you." Gajeel says with a final breath

"I love you- gajeel! GAJEEL!!!" You go on your knees and start crying you heart out.

Finally Jet shows back up and he becomes stiff once he sees Gajeel's now limp body on the floor. "(Y/n) we have to get out of here more members of the dark guild are coming!!" Jet yells.

You continue to sob and ignore jet's screaming. You were too mad and upset to care about anything then the love of your life was killed before you. Suddenly you felt arms pick you up and in a few minutes  you were back at the guild hall.

"GAJEEL IS GONE-

You wake up in bed realizing it was just a dream! You've been having that same nightmare for the past 2 weeks. 

You get up and look to the right of the bed to see it empty. Sadly that nightmare was real and Gajeel was gone. You still can't get over the fact that he is dead but in reality you didn't want to tell yourself the truth or you'd be more miserable then you already were.

You sit up from your bed with your head down and felt warm tears running down your face.
You knew he was gone but no matter what you did, you couldn't control your anger for those who killed him. You still haven't moved on.

You get up, wipe those tears off your face, and start to get ready for the guild hall.

~Time Skip to when you go to the guild hall~

Once you noticed the large double doors, you push them open slightly so maybe no one will notice you. Before Gajeel's death, everyone saw you as the strong and lively daughter of Macao Conbolt (random). But after your eyes shown no sign of life and you wouldn't talk to anyone.

You walked straight to the job request board in order to get your mind off that nightmare. You noticed someone put the same exact job, you and Gajeel failed to do. Anger built up inside of you and you ripped the request off the board.

You walked to Mirajane to show her the job you were taking. But once she saw it here eyes went wide.

"Ok I'll go tell the Master." She said sadly

You stood there waiting for her and you failed to notice she was telling your father instead.

"(Y/n) Conbolt, please explain why you are going on this mission!?!" You looked down, "do you not remember what happened last time!?" He yelled.

"I know you miss him, we all do but you are prohibited from taking this request!!" He says in a loud voice.

All the built up anger inside of you caused you to say "Dad stop treating me like a little kid, I can handle it now, so stay out of my way!" You yell.

Everyone in the guild hall had wide eyes, one because you snapped and two this is the first time you talked in weeks. Your dad wasn't angry cause he understood, he was just sad that you're grown up now and he couldn't prevent you from anything.

You walked out of the guild hall quickly with your head down. Once you were outside and you closed the door you started to cry. So you went to your comfort area, Gajeel's grave.

You sat in front of his grave reading the tomb that said Gajeel, great wizard, friend, and boyfriend.

"It should've been me who died, not you." You say quietly.

You hear a gruff voice behind you say "wow you guys really think I'm that weak, you even made a tombstone for me!" You couldn't believe your ears and you started to cry.

You turned around to see Gajeel in the flesh. Your eyes were playing tricks on you! You sob "My dad is right! I am going crazy!!"

You put your head on the floor, squeeze your eyes shut, and your hands on your head and say "I'm dreaming he's not really there. I have to get over it, he's gone!"

"Get up shorty, you're so stubborn" he yells frustrated.

You look up to see that Gajeel was all dirty and had lots of injuries across his body. His hair was all messed up and he still had a rough expression on.

"It was an illusion, the dark mages we fought had illusion magic. You ran out of the dark guild's hall with an illusion of me and you watched an illusion of me die" he said seriously

You looked at him still not believing what your hearing or seeing.

"I was never with you, they captured me and tortured me but I managed to escape." He said this time with more sympathy.

You stand up and touch his shoulder to see if he really was alive and it was him. You hug him with so much force and you sob into his shoulder.

"Woah watch it I'm still injured!" He yelled

"I watched you die, it was like a nightmare!" You said between sobs

"Well there's no need to worry, I'm here now and I love you." He said quickly trying not to show his soft side.

"I love you too Gajeel!" You said smiling. This was the first time you smiled in weeks.

"Quit crying shorty. I would've been here sooner but I went to get something before I came here. He shuffled to get something in his pocket.

You pulled out of the hug to see him take out a velvet box. He got on one knee and said "(y/n) Conbolt will you marry me?" He said nervously.

You stood back with wide eyes. First Gajeel is back and now he's asking you to marry him!! You smile and say "Of course!!"

He grabs you by the waist and kisses you with all his might. And things started to get heated until you pulled apart so the other guild members could see him.

"Come on we have to tell the guild your alive!" You say happily

He smirks and says "Ok and I can show them who my new fiancé is!"

You giggle and hold his hand all the way to the guild hall.
