"Did you guys hear!? Sasuke Uchiha is in SAO too!"

"What how could he get himself stuck in here with us?"

"Yeah and he isn't even real."

"No, he's actually in the game right now! Rumor is that he's even more powerful than all the Knights of the Blood Oath put together!"

I walked straight past that idiotic group, I could never take on the entire Blood Oath guild. Half of them? No problem. You're probably confused, so I'll go back the day SAO launched.

My real name is Ayame Yami. I'm 18 years old and an international transfer student to Tokyo University. I went to japan the day I graduated high school. Why? That's none of your concern. When I when I got here I was offered the chance to be a beta tester for SAO. Being the gamer I was, I gladly accepted.

It was amazing there was nothing close to it in the US. I modeled my character after Sasuke Uchiha from Naruto. It took a while but I finally made a perfect replica of him.

In the game I found secrets that no one should have access to, it was awesome. I was also the top player. I was three floors above the player closest to me Kirito.

When the game officially launched I got home from work and put my nerve gear on. It took some time but I managed to recreate Sasuke. Then in the corner of the screen I saw a small pop up that I bet a lot of people missed that said:

Congratulations!

Since you've beta tested SAO you may add ANY one skill to a custom character. The skill can be anything you can imagine!

I selected the pop up immediately and gave my character the ability to use any jutsu.

I logged into the game and under my health I saw a bar that said chakra. I guess I had a limit on my jutsus. I'd logged in about 4 hours after the game launched so it was about an hour until dinner time.

I started playing using whatever jutsu came to mind when I faced a monster and no one was around. This was one skill I wanted to keep secret.

About an hour later I tried to log off, but the log out button was missing. I spotted Kirito nearby using the same default character as in the beta test.

"Hey Kirito!"

"Huh? Oh Sasuke it's you!"

"Who's your friend?" I asked looking at the guy he was hanging out with.

"Hi!" He said jumping up, "My name's Klein!"

I looked back at Kirito, "He's certainly . . . friendly."

"Yeah," Kirito said with a laugh, "Hey aren't you usually logged off by now?"

"I was building my avatar." I said gesturing to myself as Kirito smiled, "and the log out button is missing."

"What!?" The two said simultaneously and went to check if they still had theirs.

"I think they're trying to trap us in here." I muttered

"You always look at the dark side of things," Kirito said with a reassuring smile, but his voice was shaking a little, too little for anyone else to notice. "It's probably just a bug. It is the first day of the launch, and maybe the servers are getting overloaded."

"Y-Yeah," Klein said, "That must be it."

Then we were transported to the town of beginnings and the sky turned red, "Now I'm sure they're trying to trap us here."

A red cloaked figure appeared in the sky and began to talk "My name is Kayaba Akihiko and I have only one goal. My goal has already been achieved. I created Sword Art Online for one reason, and one reason alone to create this world and intervene in it. And now, it is complete. The missing log out button is part of my goal to keep here.

If your NerveGear is disconnected, or if you die in-game an electric shock will be sent into your brain and you will die. Already 2,000 players have died, but do not fear there is a means of escape, and that is to complete the game. All 100 floors. I have also given all of you a gift that you can find in your inventory. Go try it out."

"Kirito!" I yelled, "Don't it's obviously a trap!" I was too late he had already taken out a mirror and had begun transforming. When I looked back at him he was completely different and he was freaking out about it too.

"What the!? How could he?" He muttered.

"As you can see you all have been turned into you're true forms. What you look like outside the game." He checked a screen and laughed a bit, "All except one of you." I felt Kirito's eyes come to rest on me the only player around that hadn't changed.

"Hey, I specially modified my character to look just like me." I told him.

"Oh," he replied with one last suspicious glance toward me. Then he saw Klein. "Klein!?"

"Kirito!?"

"Well you certainly look scruffier."

"Well you look younger."

"Heh, heh, true."

Then as suddenly as he came Kayaba Akihiko disappeared.

I looked at Kirito and Klein, "Well I'm leaving for the next town. This one only has so much EXP and with all the players it'll run out soon."

Without waiting for them to respond I left. I didn't want anyone figuring out that I hadn't used the mirror, and the longer I hung around the more chance there was that someone would figure it out.
