You were a mess and so was I
We were missing something
we couldn't find
It was like a prison
We were learning how to cope
But it wasn't what we wanted
For freedom is what we hope
We have our own flaws, weaknesses
We were in distraught
We were in the verge of dying
Tears falling
We found comfort in each other
However, we don't love one another
It was just something mutual
We share with each other
Until one day we realized
We have been blind all this time
Blinded of the past that holds us back
Blind not to see each other's love
You got my back and I got yours
It's time we mend each other
Our broken pieces
Put back together
We found something
We didn't know we were missing
We didn't know we needed
We didn't know we were seeking
There was an empty space
That should be placed
With the last piece
That would hold us together
We took each other's last piece
Hoping, praying
But most of all,
Scared. Nervous. Anxious.
Until we finally placed it
Heads down, disappointed.
It didn't fit
It didn't work out at all
But this time,
It was better
We were not in vain
In fact, we grew stronger.
We will move on.
Thank you for everything
It was worth it
You were worth it.
