First day

Xiao's POV
I am an incoming freshman at University Y where I am going to major in dance. The university recruited me all the way from China after seeing a clip of me dancing. I was about to walk into the dance room until this really handsome guy surrounded by girls walked past me. Wow! Already just started and he's the most popular guy in school!!! I walked the hallways and a guy named Park Minhyuk walked up to me.

Minhyuk: annyeonghaseyo! You don't look Korean
Xiao: well I'm Chinese
Minhyuk: no wonder... my name is Minhyuk but I prefer Rocky because that's going to be my stage name in the future
Xiao: oh really? You want to be an idol?
Minhyuk: yes I do! But where are you headed?
Xiao: I'm trying to look for the department with dance majors
Minhyuk: which dance are you planning to major in? Tradition? Modern? Hip hop?
Xiao: I mean whichever one I have the most fun in then I'll do that one
Minhyuk: well since I'm also going to look for them too let's go together
Xiao: are you a freshman too?
Minhyuk: yes!
Xiao: I was so worried about making friends but now I don't need to
Minhyuk: that's right!

I was walking with Minhyuk until we finally found the studio room. There was a whole line of people waiting to get in.

Xiao: what?!
Rocky: oh damn... this is just amazing

Then we saw some girls running out of the room crying.

Xiao: this is intense
Rocky: the first day of university and its already this serious

The line moved surprisingly fast and I didn't hear about anybody actually passing the auditions to be part of the dance department. I was getting more and more freaked out as it was almost my turn. My legs felt so weak and my heart was beating so fast. However, when I went into the room it was a girl and a guy. They introduced themselves as Victoria and Lay.

Victoria: what's your name?
Xiao: my name is Cheng Xiao but you could also call me Xiao
Lay: oh so your that student that the department chair told us about
Victoria: but let's see if you are actually worth watching?
Lay: I don't mean to pressure you even more but we have only recruited one male student so far
Victoria: we would like to recruit at least one female student and hopefully it will be you

Is this pressure or encouragement?

I showed them the traditional dance that helped me with my flexibility. After I finished, I quickly bowed to the two sundaes and expected rejection.

Victoria: that was really unexpected... and your very flexible! The chairperson didn't lie...
Lay: you definitely surpassed my expectations! You can wait outside with the boy in the room to our right

Did I pass the audition? What's going on? Oh my god!!! I wish Minhyuk was here with me! I feel so clueless right now but I guess going to the next room is better than running out of the room crying. There literally was a door to their right in the dance studio so there was no need to go outside of the studio. As I opened the door there was only one guy sitting in the chair.

Xiao: annyeonghaseyo my name is Cheng Xiao but you can call me Xiao
Dong Si Cheng: annyeonghaseyo my name is Cheng Si! So ironic how we both have Cheng in our names! And I'm also Chinese

Is everybody in the dance department Chinese? Isn't this department kind of being more biased toward Chinese people? Ironic...

Dong Si Cheng: you can call me WinWin
Xiao: WinWin... 😂😂😂 that's such a cute name

After a few minutes passed, Minhyuk came into the room!

Xiao: oh my god Minhyuk your finally here!!!
Minhyuk: I'm so glad I'm here!!! And your here too!!!
Xiao: this is WinWin
Minhyuk: oh nice to meet you!
Xiao: this is Rocky!
WinWin: I'm just glad I'm not the only one in this room

Then two more girls came in and they introduced themselves as Mina and Momo. They were both Japanese. This is a very global group of people. Another boy came in two seconds later whose name was MoonBin. Then the two sunbaes called us to go outside.

Victoria: it may seem pretty obvious by now but you guys are the new recruits!
Momo: oh my gosh! Yay!!!
Rocky: now I completed the first step to my dream!!!
Lay: yes this is definitely good news so we will be celebrating today by eating barbecue!
Victoria: even though you guys got in but there are some rules and regulations you just must listen to well there are actually only two
Lay: you must come every day to practice
Victoria: another thing is we are enemies with singing department so do not interact with them
Rocky: i just want to know but what's the reason?
Victoria: every year there is the artist competition where one student is chosen from the signing and dancing department... however we are never able to win because they always sabotage us... they try to take over our studio and are very cocky people just because of their vocal cords
MoonBin: not like I want to talk to them
Lay: anyways you guys can go explore the rest of the campus

As we were walking outside, Momo and Mina came up to me.

Mina: annyeong Xiao! Let's be friends
Momo: we are all trying to major in dance so why not be friends
Xiao: ok!
Momo: are you dorming on campus?
Xiao: yes I am so that's what I'm about to do now
Mina: that's even better!!! And did you get your schedule yet?
Xiao: yes I already did
Momo: let's see if we have any classes!!!
Xiao: we have half of the same classes together!
Rocky: what are you guys doing? Comparing schedules? Awww I only have three classes with you three!!! I Emanuel better than nothing
WinWin: what?! I only have one class with all of you guys!!!
Rocky: MoonBin why don't you show us your schedule?
MoonBin: here
Mina: you have the same exact classes as Xiao!!!
Xiao: let's make sure to sit next to each other then!
Momo: this is going to be a great year!

The six of us were walking in the hallways until we saw five more people walk up to us. They gave us the biggest glares.

Yeonjung: your in our way!
Mina: well your in ours too!
Eunwoo: just get out of the way that's it
MoonBin: why are you even yelling?
Wendy: oh so are you guys the new dance recruits? Kids make way for the dancing machines
Yeonjung: ok then sunbae

Was she being sarcastic with us? I mean they did create a pathway for us. However as I was walking through one of them tripped me. All of them just started snickering at me.

Rocky: wow I must congratulate you guys
Momo: you guys are definitely are better at sabotaging than singing
Wendy: oh shut up like being able to wiggle your body like a worm is something to be proud of
Xiao: let's just go guys
Eunwoo: embarrassed?
Xiao: shouldn't you be the one embarrassed because you could pass as a girl

I just walked off because I just wouldn't have it anymore. What a great way to end my first day at school.
