The Scam.
Good Morning Call."Hey, Mom, calm down, I'll be fine."
"I know... look after yourself, okay? I know you will, but..."
"Im not stupid, you know that. Quit worrying, okay?"
"Of course, you're a smart girl. Just know im still here for you anytime."
"I'll never forget. And hey, I'll visit every now and then. It's not like I'll be alone either. Kise lives nearby to Touou."
"At least that puts me at ease. I made him promise to check up on you."
"M-mum..."
"Stay safe darling! And send pictures of you're new place!"
"Alright, alright I will.
I love you, Mum."I hung up.
Vibrant rays of morning sunshine embraced the landscape, splitting through the windows of the cabin and radiating on the surface of my skin. I smiled at the sensation of warmth, and yawned, stretching over the surface of the trains cabin seats.
My purple orbs flickered to my phone screen:
06:03
Man, thats tough. Subconsciously, I scowled at the reconciliation of the hour, so early for a sunday morning, but gleamed with the idea of being so close after a long train journey.
36 minutes and a cup of tea later, I was there.
The apparentment bathed in the sun; the atmosphere substantial with the empty rooms and space- ready to be enveloped in all of my belongings, of course.
I thanked the delivery man for kindly helping with placing my boxes and furniture in the main living room, and I shut the front door behind me, examining my new home.
Walking up the hallway, the right side opened up and displayed a large expense of living space, joined to a kitchen right behind. The bathroom was behind the hallway wall on the left, and in front were- two bedrooms?
On the contact, there was only one bedroom...
So what, a spare bedroom...?
Shrugging, I walk into the room neatest to the kitchen, labelling it as my own and identifying the boxes with my bedroom items inside.
Box after box; my back is killing me.
"Argh, what a pain!" I moan, exasperated, dropping the last, heavy as hell, box onto the floor. I sit down, open them, and start to materialise my bed. As long as I have a bed, I'll survive.
What seems like hours and hours later, I check the time to set up the clock in my room; it now reads:
08:56
"Im so tired." I state clearly, fixing the time appropriately before deciding to head out and get a proper breakfast-
Click.
What the-
The noise turned into footsteps and I froze in place; my eyes panned across the bedroom, to the slight gap in the door, to the shadow and increasing noises, to the figure who just entered my appartment...
Cautiously, I tip-toe over to the door frame: my hand brushing over the wood, then clasping the handle I pushed forward, revealing-
a really hot guy.
Wait-what the hell?
Without warning, his gorgeous, caliginous blue eyes hold my gaze; my breath hitched as he glimpsed deep into my orbs, my body still in a transe as his gaze shifted downward, and my eyebrow ticked as his lips smirked.
"What- how the hell did you get in?"
"Hah?" He questioned, amused, and shifted forward in my direction, alerting me as his hand raised, revealing a key. A key identical to my own. "I could ask you the same thing..."
My features clicked in confusion. I studied the male: his masculine, lean frame, his broad shoulders, his tight jawline and the way his eyes flickered over my frame, and I inwardly stirred.
Still, I narrowed my eyelids, moving towards my contract for the appartment.
"Hey, show me your contract. For the appartment." I demand, turing back towards him. He raises an eyebrow in my direction, but confirms and reaches for his in his blue shoulder bag.
I spread mine over the table I assorted in the living room earlier, crossing my arms over my chest, as he crosses over the room, showing his indistinguishable contact beside mine.
"You have to be kidding me." I groan, my face twisted with agitation, "What's this about-?"
"Oh?" He questions, observing the corresponding contracts, his features displaying distress. "What the fuck is this?"
Ignoring his rude dispose of language, I turn to face him, his eyes meeting my own.
"We've been scammed... Ugh, what a pain." He complains, throwing his luggage onto the sofa in annoyance.
"You're not the only victim... What am I supposed to do now? I used everything moving here." I sob, touching my temples.
In the moment, I look over to him.
I can't just tell him to get out, and I can't leave, either. But what else can we do?
"The monthly rent is ¥1500 according to this. However, our individual contracts only presented ¥800..." I mutter, obvious anger conveyed through my features.
What a lier that women was. How could I just get ripped off like that? Im so pissed I could punch a wall.
"Oi." His low, virile voice sent shivers through my nerves, and I hated how much I liked it. "Can you pay that rent by yourself?"
"No. You?"
"No."
"...Do you have anywhere else you can stay?"
"Nope."
Well, shit.
I can only think of one solution.
"...We'll have to live together."
