I sat on my mat staring at the book I had found in the street the night i ran from Zandra, when a boy about my age came bursting in. "Thalia...th-they're here!" I shoved the book under my pillow in a panic and ran out.

All the others are lined up in the clearing, i can hear the horses in the distance. i run to get to the others but not before they arrive. Their eyes settle on me. "Your name?" The leader said in a gruff voice. "T-Thalia Montra...sir." "get in line." He said, edge on his voice. "Yes sir."

"Alright, everyone 10 or older come forward." I see several boys and girls the younger ones with tears in their eyes, and the boy from earlier was comforting what looked like his younger sister.
The leader spoke again. "You will be taken one by one into that tent for testing." He yelled pointing to a hastily made tent. He then pulled out a scroll of paper. "Selia." He said the oldest looking girl stepped forward.

I stood there petrified as other names where called. I noticed that the crying girl was now standing alone. My heart stopped when i heard it."Thalia." I walked stiffly to the front and turned towards the tent.

When i walked inside i noticed that on all sides of the the tent was a shrine of the four elements, fire, earth, water, and air. A frail looking man stood in the middle. "Come young one." I stepped forward, His voice seemed to ring everywhere. "Are you familiar with the elements?" He spoke again. I shyly nodded my head, "Yes sir, my parents used to tell me stories about the counsel when i was small." "Ah perfect, now I will be asking some questions and I will need you to answer the best way you can." I nodded again.

Have you ever felt something powerful inside you that you couldn't explain?"

I hesitated. "No." I lied.

The man frowned, "Do you feel a pull inside you to any of these elements?"

I scanned the room again, hearing whispers everywhere. My head felt dizzy the whispers got louder i saw the outline of the man, his face wrinkled with a smile. My vision went black.
