Mistakes

The Lost Boy

AN: I have chosen Booboo Stewart to play James. I have also noticed that on some of the other chapters the pictures I put up aren't showing. I have no idea why but I'll try and fix that.

Every day is the same. Wake. Practice. Eat. Exercise. Practise. Eat. Sleep.

I practice my magic everyday but to an extent. They found a way to limit my magic in this hellhole. I can only practice so much. I try and master the spells I knew since I was a kid. I remember the day they took me like it was yesterday.

Flashback

"I'm going to visit Camille. I want you to stay here okay?" Mom knelt down to my height. I nodded my head. She gave me a kiss on the head and then opened up the portal and stepped through.

After she left I went to the small library we set up. I took one of the grimoires and decided to practice some spell while mom was away. I managed to levitate and teleport multiple objects. I got bored after about thirty minutes and decided to go outside. I put the grimoire back and chanted the spell to make the library invisible.

I walked around the garden and sat down under the big oak tree. It was at the center of the garden, it was also my favorite spot. I closed my eyes and drifted off.

I woke with a start when I felt the alarms go off. I climbed up the tree and saw two shadowhunters come outside. I stayed where I was and threw a few deathly spells towards them. One of them fell to the ground surrounded by a pool of his own blood. The other one ran towards the tree, I opened sent the same spell towards him making him trip and fall. Same state as the other guy.

At this point a warlock and shadowhunter came out from the house and came towards me. I threw a few spells at them but the other warlock blocked them. I jumped down from the tree when they got near. I cast a protection spell on myself and stood there looking at them.

"Kill him" said the shadowhunter. I muttered a quick reversal spell and when the warlock shot his magic out it killed him instead. After that I felt weak and tired, I fell to the ground and the last thing I saw was the shadowhunter coming towards me.

I remember waking up in this cell. I tried using my magic to escape but I've never been able to. I didn't know where I was or what would happen to me. All I knew was that mom would find me. She'll come and save me.

End Flashback

She hasn't come for me yet. If I still had my necklace I could've been able to call her. I don't remember waking up with it so I guess they took it from me when I was passed out.

I don't have enough magic to create a portal so all I get to do is sit here and remember everything before I was here and plan my escape... if it ever comes.

Today I create a holograph of Raphael. Most people would think he's a total ass and that he has a stick up his butt. Contrary to popular belief Raphael is a great guy. Mom would take me to visit him a lot, she even let him visit us a few times. That's how I knew she liked Raphael. She never let anyone visit us, said it could be dangerous.

I smile at that. It turns out she was right. Maybe she'll bring Raphael with her to come and get me. I never really met my dad, so Raphael was the closest thing I had to a father.

I met Raphael when I was five months old, but I don't remember. The first memory I had of Raphael was when I was three years old.

Flashback

Mom told me she was taking me to see her friend. Raphael. She sat me in my playpen and went around getting what she needed for the trip. After she had it all packed she picked me up and covered me in my favorite blanket.

When she removed the blanket we were in a place I'd never seen before. "Raphael. It's been too long" I heard mom say. "Indeed it has. And who is this little one." I saw a strange man stand next to mom. He was fairly tall and had slightly pale skin.

He asked mom to carry me and she handed me over with a smile on her face.

I was now in the man's arms. "Do you talk little warlock?"

"No. I cry" I said in a small voice making him laugh. My attention quickly turned to his mouth. I outstretched a hand in curiosity. He pulled back a little. "You shouldn't do that little warlock. Some would deem it unwise."

I pulled my hand back and thought for a moment. "Momma can I show him?" She nods her head and chuckles a little. I think she may have known what I was thinking.

I turn my head to the man and showed him my eyes. He stared at me with wide eyes. "You show me yours now" I demanded pointing at his mouth. He looked over at mom and then back at me. He showed me his teeth and I reached out to touch them.

"Are you like us?" I said while inspecting his teeth. "No. I'm different." I stop and looked at him. "How?"

"I'm a Child of the Night." I turned to mom. "A vampire sweetie." I 'oh' before looking back at the Raphael.

"Wanna play a game?" I asked him with hopeful eyes. He let out a small sigh before nodding his head.

"Hide and seek!" I exclaimed. Raphael put me down and I ran over to mom. She grabbed my hands before letting her magic flow over me. After that I ran off into the building to hide. After about ten minutes of hiding Raphael finally found me. He hissed at me and I yelled, which turned into laughing on both sides. We stayed there for a while longer before mom said it was time to go. I hugged Raphael goodbye and we left soon after.

End Flashback

Raphael was a big part of my life growing up. He looked after me when mom couldn't and he helped me with my spells. We would always play hide and seek. It helped me with my cover up spells and it helped Raphael with his tracking.

I thought about seeing Raphael again. I wonder if he and mom ever got together. It would be great if they did.

The guard outside hit the door, sliding in a tray of food. He said some degrading comment about me but I just ignored him. This evening they had surprise dinner. How appetizing.

I ate the food reluctantly. I needed to keep my energy at its peak. After that I laid down on the cot and let an image of the garden hover above me. I fell asleep thinking of seeing my family again.

'Please mom, take me away from here. Take me home.'

Somewhere in the forest at the L/N house

Y/N woke with a start. She looked around confused before uttering "James. I'm coming for you baby. We'll be together again." She opened up a portal and stepped through.

AN: I wanted to do more with this chapter which is why it took me some time to write it but I still think it could've been better. I hope you guys like this chapter, please leave a like a/o comment.
