This story is about a 12 year old boy. He and his family just moved to a new cottage in the middle of no where. The clossest village was 10 minutes away in the car.
They moved there because the boys uncle passed away recently and they Were given that house for free in his will.
They used to live in a tiny apartment with only two small bedrooms. There was four of them.
A mother named Agather, father named James, a 13 year old girl named Samantha and a 12 year old boy called Mason.
James worked all of the time. From six in the morning to nine in the evening so the children barely saw him. Agather was a stay at home mum. Who took the children to school and looked after the home.
Because their new house was huge, and actually more like a mansion both of the children got their own room.
They lived in their new home for a few weeks. Getting used to the icolation that the house gave.
After three weeks of living in the house, Mason became randomly ill. He vomited and had a very high temperature. Agather decided to still take Samantha to school since she showed no symptoms that Mason did.
So Agather went and took Sam to school then went to the supermarket and doctors. Because they all lived in the middle of no where, Agather didn't really fear anyone coming in.
Mason was on his own. In a huge mansion.
As soon as the others left, Mason began to feel a lot better. He decided to go and look around the mansion.
They had been there for three weeks but Mason had still only seen the kitchen, dining room, bathroom, living room and the three bedrooms. So he decided to go looking.
He was searching around the house for an hour. Each turn he took revealing more of the house than before.
All of the rooms he looked in so far were all open and simple places like studies or toilets.
But after a long time of searching. Mason found a strange and old looking door. Covered in markings and writing that he couldn't deciffer. He tried to open the door, but for the first time since he came to the house, it was locked.
He looked at the key hole and realised that it was a lot different to the other key holes in the house.
Just as he was about to give the handle another tug, he heard a car pulling up on the stonny drive outside. He suddenly felt very sick again.
He ran around the house turning several corners until he realised that he was on the landing with the bedrooms. "Huh? I could have sworn I was much further from my room as this." he thought to hims self but before he could think twice he heard the front door open and his mother's voice yell calmly 'Mason, I'm home."
When Agather came into Jason's room, he was pretending to be assleep. "Hey honey, I'm back. How have you been? Any better?" Honestly, Mason was feeling a lot better when they all left but as soon as hismum came back, he felt just as bad as earlier. "Ugh" Mason moaned. "It's okay honey, you get some more rest." She then left Mason's room.
Later that night Mason woke up with the feeling of something watching him, half asleep, he turned over to look at the door way. And that is when he saw a creepy black figure staring at him with slightly glowing eyes. Mason rubbed his eyes thinking it was just a trick of the light.
Mason was 12 year old so he had seen his fare share of factual documentaries to know that shadows in the middle of the night are usually just your brain playing tricks on you.
Once he removed his hands from his eyes and looked back at the spot where the 'figure' was standing. He saw nothing was there. So he turned back around and went back to sleep, completely forgetting what He just supposably saw.
