~Prologue~

The boy from the coffee shop wasn't something that you would call a regret but it was certainly not meant to turn into a giant mess. You weren't supposed to kiss him and take him home after the movies.

And you were definitely not supposed to whisper words of affection as you two lay sprawled on the bed with your hand on his chest and his hand on your waist. His green eyes shone so brightly that night as he said what you were hoping not to hear.

You weren't planning on leaving and hiding from it all while it all sunk in. He wasn't meant to call you. You weren't meant to bump in again at the coffee shop, as awkward as ever. You were meant to keep it between friends, professional and precise.

There are all these things that shouldn't have happened, yet somehow they slotted in together. Maybe not perfectly, but they did. In the end, you were happy it happened. The small bumps made it all worth it in the end and showed that you could get through it all.

So let's start our story where it all began, on a possibly cliché windy Thursday morning.
