The first part of the day went by in a breeze, before we knew it, it was time for lunch. George excused himself and went over to talk to Harry and the others, while I took my spot at the Slytherin table, Rosalie on my left, "Hey! What happened to you today? You totally left me here alone! I didn't see you until you ran back in to talk to Dumbledore and then Harry. What happened to me? I thought I was your best friend?" I sighed and turned to look at her after I had filled my plate, "Rose, I'm so sorry, it's just that.. Quirrell was freaking me out with his staring so I left.. I went to the classroom and was gonna wait around for class to start but Snape had me run a note to Dumbledore.. Then, uh Harry wanted to apologize and uh.. Yeah that's pretty much it." Rosalie didn't look at all convinced but shrugged anyway, "Okay whatever you say Eve. What class do you have next?" I pulled out my turntable, "Defense Against the Dark Arts. You?" Rose groaned, "Dang it! I've got Care of Magical Creatures." I laughed, "Sorry Rose!" She smiled and shrugged before turning back to her food and eating. I did the same thing and didn't realize that once again Quirrell was staring at me, and he had an evil smile on his face. Once I had finished lunch and was about to leave, my father's owl swooped in and dropped a letter on the table. I grabbed it and started to read,

"Dearest Genevieve,

I'm gathering from the fact that you have not replied to my letter that you are upset with me. I will not apologize for leading the life I want to live. I just wanted to tell you that I love you very much dear, and that Severus has informed me that Quirrell is making you feel uncomfortable? Is there something I can do to make him stop? Do I need to come to the school and talk to him? Please let me know if there is anything you need, after all I am your father. Please Eve, reply to me, I know you are upset with me, but this is what I want to do. You know if there was anything you wanted to do I wouldn't stop you, and I wouldn't stay angry with you. Also, Sirius says hello and that he loves you.

                    Reply Swiftly,

                            Dad"

With a sigh I nudged Rosalie, "How much longer do we have for lunch?", she looked at the big clock on the wall, "Oh about twenty minutes, why?" I shrugged, "Gotta write to my father." She nodded and smiled, "Okay well I'll see you later then. I gather you're heading for the owlery?" I nodded and stood to leave, "Yeah, I'll see you later Rose." With that I swiftly walked out of the Great Hall and up to the owlery, pulling out a piece of parchment paper I sat on a bench and began writing,

"Father,

Of course I am upset with you after all this time you promised me you wouldn't go back to that life! But, I won't hold it against you, I've already forgiven you.. I love you too dad, you know I do. Yeah, Quirrell this morning stared at me while I was eating my breakfast and it made me very uncomfortable. I don't think there is anything you can do that can make him stop, but you are more than welcome to try. I don't think you need to come to the school, just yet anyway, if it gets worse maybe.. Of course I will let you know if I need anything, but for now, I am okay. I know this is what you want to do, I wouldn't try to stop you anyway, because it wouldn't matter you'd still do it. I'm not angry, never was, more disappointed than anything. But I'll get over it, eventually. And, tell Sirius I say hello and that I love him too. And father, I love you very much, nothing you do could make me love you any less. Never forget that!

                                Always,

                                    Genevieve"

Once I was done writing the letter, I went to the school owl and told him to take it to my father, once the owl was gone I turned and left the owlery. By the time I got back to the castle, it was time to head to class, so I quickly walked to the DADA classroom and saw that the only people there were Quirrell, George, and Fred. Fred and George were sitting next to each other whispering, about a prank no doubt, so I took that as I hint that they were going to be sitting next to each other this year. Shrugging, I took a seat in the very back, close to the door, in case I needed to make a break for it. A few seconds later the rest of the class was piling in, Lee Jordan caught my eye and smiled, taking a seat beside me, "Hey Eve how are you?" I smiled warmly at Lee, I wasn't as close to him as I was the others, but he was still a good friend, "Hi Lee, I'm good! How are you?" Lee shrugged, "I'm okay, ready to learn though. Hopefully Quirrell is a better teacher than our last one, what was her name again?", I rolled my eyes, "Professor Merrythought. And she was wonderful at what she did, she just got too old and retired Lee." Lee shrugged and perked up when Quirrell began to take role. Once role was over with we began our lesson, which was on Boggarts. Boggarts, I learned, are shape-shifting, non-beings that take the form of the viewers worst fear. At the moment I wasn't sure what my greatest fear was, was it dying, dementors, or my own father? It's sad that I may fear my father most of all, but after what he told me, I should fear him, right?
