A/N: Sorry for the absence... I've been busy with work and was also working on mental health issues..
Also, the picture above is Remus Lupin, to clear up any confusion.

I woke up the next morning feeling extremely tired, I groaned as I got up. Grabbing some comfortable clothes I took a shower. Once I was dressed I headed for my office so that I could write some letters to my friends, seeing as though I had failed to do so all summer. Grabbing some ink, a quill, and some paper I got to work on writing, I started with George, telling him I was sorry for taking so long to write, that I hadn't been feeling myself lately. I asked him how his summer was going, and told him I missed him and couldn't wait to see him when school started back up. Then I moved on to Fred, who once again I apologized for taking so long to write, I asked him how he was and if anything exciting had happened, I told him that I hadn't been feeling myself so I've been locking myself in my house all summer, which wasn't a lie, and told him that I couldn't wait for September to get here. I also wrote one to Ron, telling him that I missed him, and couldn't wait to see what kind of adventures that we could go on this year. Once I had those three written out I sent my owl out with them, telling them to take them to The Burrow. Once the owl was gone I got on to writing one for Rosalie, who had already sent me three or four letters, all very worried about me. So in reply I apologized profusely and told her that I had been going through some things and that I hadn't been feeling like myself, and that I couldn't quite make myself write to anyone before now, I told her that I would try harder, but not to hold her breath, and then told her that I hope the rest of the summer flies by so that I can see her again. Satisfied with that letter I moved on to Hermione's letter, I told her the same thing I told everyone else about not feeling myself and then asked her if she had read any interesting books so far, I asked her how her summer was going and if she was excited for second year. I sent Hermione's by muggle mail, hoping that she would get it fast. Then I put on a light jacket and headed out the door, deciding to go to the local owlery to send out Rosalie's letter.

It took about 20 minutes for me to get to the owlery and back, and when I did get home Kreacher was nowhere to be seen, the house was dead silent, which wasn't really a good thing. I walked through the house slowly, wand drawn, I didn't call out for Kreacher, because if there was someone or something in my house I'd like to catch them off guard. After securing the first floor I moved onto the second floor, checking first in my room, then moving to Kreacher's, when there was still nothing to be found I turned to my office, which was where I kept everything for or from school. Opening the door to my office I was taken aback to see a man sitting in my chair, which nothing but a candle lighting the room. "Hello Ms. Black, your uncle Sirius told me of your... predicament. I meant no harm but I had to come here secretly, as in, I had to send your house elf off somewhere...Don't worry he's fine.", he pulled out his wand and flicked on the lights, I blinked a couple of times to get used to the light. When I did adjust I saw a man who looked no older than 30, standing there, wearing a woolen suit and a gentle smile on his face. His face had scars running across them, and his hair was a light brown, unkempt but stylish nonetheless. I lowered my wand down just a bit and arched a brow, "Who in Merlin's name are you and why are you in my house?", the man cleared his throat before setting his wand down on the table, "I'm sorry my dear, where are my manners? My name? My name is Remus Lupin, and I am an old friend of your uncle's. I'm here to help you,"

"Help me? Mate I don't bloody well know you! You expect me to believe that you are a friend of Sirius' and that you broke into my house and sent my house elf away just to help me?", the man, Remus, chuckled nervously, "Yes well I did tell Sirius doing it this way wouldn't be a good idea, but.. He thought it'd be funny.. I do apologize Genevieve for being ever so rude in breaking into your house and stealing your house elf from you.", I cracked a small smile, "That's quite alright Mr. Lupin, but you know I am curious as to how you plan on helping me. Or have you a plan yet?" He conjured up another chair and took a seat, then motioned for me to sit in my chair, albeit hesitantly I did. Remus cleared his throat, "Sirius told me that he told Dumbledore about your predicament as well, and I hope that wasn't a bad move on his part.. Anyway! I figured you and I could do some reading and maybe try to figure out a way to get the dark mark removed... Also a way to get you back to the way you were before..well.. You know." I nodded, "Okay, that plan doesn't seem so terrible... Where do we start?", Remus looked over at me and gave me a small grin, "Well I do have a pretty extensive library at my home, filled with all kinds of different books, I figured we could head over there and start looking through the books I have on counter-curses."
