Chapter 3

Josh's P.O.V

When I walked into my house I decided to call Claudia to end it. I called her phone, she picks up on the first ring, before I can even get a word in she's trying to win me back. After she finally calms down I take a deep breath and say the 2 best words I've said in a while. "It's over." I hang up before she can trap me with a lie.

As I'm putting my phone back on the counter I hear the doorbell ring. I open the door to see Jen at my steps, eyes still puffy from the tears. "I'm so sorry for walking out on you! I know that you just lost your boyfriend and I was being selfish! I'm so so sorry!" I tell her, because I was being such a jerk earlier.

She nods and says, "it's ok I should've never messed with your emotions, I think I was just in the moment. And I have had a lot on my mind lately. And you love me? How lo-" "Jennifer!" "Sorry." "You never have to say sorry to me ok?" "Sorr-, I mean ok." "Ok?" "Ok."

Jen's P.O.V

I don't know why Josh would love me I'm just an emotional wreck. I walk over to him and give him a big hug. After what seems like forever, I pull away and now our faces our only inches from each other. Usually I would push him away and make a dirty joke but being close to him right now feels...right.

I've never noticed from afar how his big brown eyes sparkled and his eyebrows raised a little when he made that heart-melting grin. I think I just might be falling for Joshua Ryan Hutcherson and I'm ok with that. I didn't realize I was leaning in until my lips meet his.

The past few months I've felt like I've been missing something. And I finally know what it is... the touch I felt in the cave scene and at the beach, the touch of his soft puckered lips, and his stubble scratching my cheek, the spark I've felt with no one else. And I now know I'm not falling for him... I've already fell, so hard I didn't even know. He's my rock. Maybe my always and forever.
