10:00AM
In two hours, I will be 14 years old. This age is the big step, and always has been, ever since my parents said I might be an elementalist. This is the age where I find out if I'm special, or some puny human.
Ever since I was told about elementalists, I have always dreamed of this day. The day where I can find out if I'm like my parents, both water elementalists.
I want to make my parents proud and become a powerful elementalist. I'm hoping I get the water element, but my parents say it's possible to get something else. Whatever the element, I will try my best and become a legendary elementalist.
11:55 AM
I can't help but feel excitement take over my body as I sit and wait for the most important time of my life.
Just five more minutes, and I can start on achieving my goal in success! I start figiting and rubbing my fingers together as I lay there on my small, soft bed. As I count my final minutes a horrible thought comes to me.
What if.... I end up not being an elementalist? I have never even thought of this possibility, and I start to feel uncomfortable.
Sweat slowly slides down my face and I take off my jacket. What if I'm not an elementalist? What if I will never be able to make my parents proud? What if.... What if.... I hate those words. Those two words equal endless possibilities of what could happen... usually bad things.
When I start playing the 'what if' game with me dad, he would always say,
"What if a demon climbs from hell, sets us on fire, and burn us alive? Don't wonder about the bad things that happen. Be logical and push through any problem with that head of yours."
I smile at the thought of him poking my forehead like he always does when he says that. I guess all I can hope for, is an answer to come soon.
11:59
I can't hope but squeal in excitement as my eyes stay fixed on the clock. One minute... ONE MINUTE!!! I get up and stand in the middle of the room, my bare feet sinking into the luscious carpet.
I soon hear the chime of the 12:00 bell. I jump up and down with excitement and opened my eyes so wide, I swear my eyeballs are going to come out.

Nothing. I feel nothing. I stand there, in the middle of my empty room and realization dawns on me.
I'm not special. I'm just some weak human being that will never be able to make her parents proud. All I wanted to do was to have the chance to be a powerful elementalist and make my parents proud.
I slowly shuffle back to my bed collapsing into a pitiful heap. Big wet tears slide down my face as I silently cry. What a birthday this was. Happy birthday? More like crush-all-your-dreams birthday!
After an hour or so of being a pitiful heap on my bed just eating potato chips and watching anime, I finally start to feel sleep take over me. I lay down carefully on my bed, ready to go into a deep slumber where I don't have to think about the events that have happend. Or really, the events that DIDN'T happen.
Right as my eyes shut, the last of my tears dried up and forgotten, my eyes suddenly burst open as a strange bright light fills the room with the feeling of hope and happiness. I couldn't help but smile as I felt the joy emitting off of the light hit me.
But then, as fast as it appeared, it vanished, and was replaced by a dark smoke that immediately filled my lungs. It felt like they were on fire and a dreadful atmosphere filled the room, making me feel no more happiness our joy. All hope left my soul and I ended up as an emotionless creature, standing in the middle of darkness.
My smile quickly turns into a scowl and I start thinking dreadful and horrible things. What is going on? Am I going to die? It sure does feel like it! Slowly the darkness started to fade away, in a way that looked like a vacuum sucking it away.
In its place, a glowing orb which consists of different meaningful colors such as brown, red orange, blue, and white, floats... suspended in the air right in front of me.
Curiosity take over my body as I reach out to touch the glowing orb. Suddenly, before my fingers can even graze the orb, water shoots out and wraps around me. I can feel the relaxing coolness of the water as it runs along my fingers.
As I move around my limbs, watching the water in wonder, big clusters of dirt fly towards me. My eyes widen in fear and I instinctively shut my eyes, raising my arms my arms to protect my face, and wait for impact.
But it never came. I slowly open my eyes and there are four clods of dirt flying In front of me, making a square in the air. Then, without warning, they flew towards me and joined the water that was still floating around me.
All I can do is watch in utter disbelief and amazement as a sudden whoosh of air blows my long brown hair back.
Of course, my hair doesn't dramatically flow flawlessly like in the movies.... nope, nope, nope, it just tangled and flew into my face. Of course.
Before I can flip my hair back out of my face, I feel warmth around me. It felt comfortable, like after a cold winter day when you come into the house and sit by the toasty fireplace.
I brush hair away from my eyes and see warm orange flames surrounding me, and spiraling up around my body like a tornado.
I flinch when the flames turn pure white and touches my skin. It burnt like nothing I have ever felt before. It felt worse than if i had touched the sun. But, as sudden and quick as it came, the pain left and i was left with a strange numb feeling.
The whole room starts to warp and turn around and around, and I start to feel sick to my stomach. I felt a strange feeling in my throat and almost throw up as the room continues to spin at a breathtaking speed. What the fu-
Next thing I know, in standing in the middle of a huge room. I look around wary at first, but soon come to admire the detail. Below me were golden tiles and above me was a glass ceiling, lined which various colors and designs.
Hanging from a beautiful lapis piece was a chandelier like none I have ever seen before. Attached to golden branches were tear- like silver droplets that sparkled and glistened from the sun shine above it. I could see different carefully detailed statues everywhere and a giant star symbol in the middle of the floor.
Mesmerized by my surroundings, I begin to stride to a huge wood door with diamond lining and designs. I noticed that there were six different symbols that surrounded a Elementalist in the middle of the door.
There was a large drop off water, which I assume represented the water element, a great ball of fire was placed on the Elementalist's hand which represented fire. Above the.
Elementalist's head was a detailed drawing of wind, the air element.
And finally, in a whole space for there own, were the symbols of light and dark on each of the Elementalist's pale hands- a ball of pure white energy and a ball of rich, dark smoke which took over the hand holding it as well.
I start to hear voices on the other side of the door, snapping me out of my gaze. With my eyes off of the door I slowly turn the golden knob and take a shaky step into the room. As I take another step a thought came into my head... what am I doing? Waking in to who-knows-where because I heard voices. Oh yea, that's smart of me. I'm pretty sure I have seem horror movies like this!
My thoughts bring me to a halt as I consider my options:
1. Say fųck this shįt I'm out, and get outta here, (sorry for my french)
2. Just risk it for that nutella biscuit at stride in like a badąss,
3. Sit down, cry hopelessly and eat cookiesncream chocolate bars.
Yea, my options aren't so great. I decide that I haven't had nutella in a while and that's a sin, so I continue to walk down the hallway to the room closest to me; trying not to think about all of the bad things that could happen to me right now.
Once I reach the door I take a long, shaky breath and swing it open. There before me was about 30 kids my age, all of their heads turned towards me.
A woman wearing a total blue robe with patterns of the water elementalists scattered all over it, just stared at me with a look of shock and wonder. All I could do was stand there awkwardly in the silence until a man who was holding a huge clipboard states,
"Welcome to the Academy of Elements Amber, I'm glad you could join us."
