Glass. That's all I can see. Everywhere is glass. Oh, and glass. And did I mention glass? The giant glass room was empty and shiny clean. Not a speck of dust could be seen. Hey, that rhymed!
I look up to see a group of five tall grownups. Four of them wore different colored robes each containing unique designs along the collar and sleeves. I could tell that they represented the four main elements; fire, water, earth, and air.
The fifth was a mysterious looking man with a long thin beard. Looking at him reminded me of Dumbledore from Harry potter. Yea, I used to be a big potterhead. He wore a simple but elegant robe divided into half, one side represented darkness, and the other light.
These five grownups were in a large room that seemed to be cut out of the glass wall. They looked about 16 feet above me. In front of them was a large polished table with five clipboards laying neatly on top.
I made my way to the center of the room, my eyes blinded by the bright sunlight. My feet touch the center glass design and suddenly the lights dim. Relieved, I stop squinting and (somewhat) patiently wait for the test.
Without warning a loud voice fills my ears.
"State your name, and where you are from." The booming voice came from the man in a fiery red robe and echoed around the empty room.
Slowly, I try to state my name without stuttering like an idiot.
"My name is Amber Neel from Oklahoma."
"Have you practiced your element or learned what your element is?" The booming voice startles me yet again and I nervously tap my foot against the ground.
"No, I have not." Trying to sound at least a little calm and collected turned out to be harder than expected.
"Before we begin, please be aware that this test is ment to be dangerous and appear life threatening. This has been the best method to get your inner element to show. Try your best and treat this as if your life is in danger. Good luck."
Gee thanks, now I am very confident in my well being. Please excuse me as I go die in a corner now!
All I could do is stand in the center as the lights change even more making it so I can't see the upper room and the people at all anymore. The room turns eerily quiet and I start freaking out a little. Ok nevermind I'm like REALLY freaking out right now!
I hear a whooshing noise in the distance and turn around. What I see in front of me was probably the scariest sight I have seen in my life...A giant ass wave was heading towards me and I have no clue what to do. The wave was at least 20 feet tall and it was heading right towards me. My eyes widen in fear as the wave came closer and closer. Wait. Was that ANOTHER wave? In the corner of my vision I see another giant wave just as big as the first one heading from my right.
Can this get any worse? Yep, cause two more are heading from different directions. I was going to drown! This must be the water test... well obviously it's the water test. Somehow these crazy people think I will be able to control these 20 foot tall waves on my first try.
Hesitantly, I raise my arms and think about controlling them. Nothing. Ok now I imagine the waves moving around me. I imagine the water and how it will feel surround me as I control it like a pro. Nothing. Yep I'm gonna die! I try with all of my might and push my hands towards the wave in front of me, which was now a good 3 yards away.
Now I'm resorting to panicking. PLEASE WORK JUST MAKE THE FLUFFING WAVE NOT CRUSH ME TO DEATH!!! Wait... oh my god its.....Not doing anything. Crap. Is this a good time to cuss? This sure does look like it. All I can do is shut my eyes tight and take one last breath as I feel the water engulf me, making my body list back and forth violently. This is it. Those maniacs up there are clearly too idiotic to save me. I would say it was fun while it lasted, but it wasnt.
As I take one more attempt to move the water with the inner power that I obvously don't have, a weird sensation takes over me. I suddenly feel light and I gaze in shock as my arms start to change. They start to light up in a blue haze and almost feel liquidity.
My whole body begins to transform as I feel power surging through me. I completely forget that I'm underwater drowning, and... The world turns black.
