Lesson 5

Kierra’s POV

The day passed by in a blur. Maybe because my mind was somewhere else. Maybe because I was thinking of Leo. Maybe because I was thinking of Clyde. Or maybe because…. just because.

Tulala lang ako while walking to the playground. It’s still 5PM but I decided to come early para naman makapag-isip-isip din ako.

It’s not because I feel like I’m Clyde’s girlfriend and that he’s cheating on me but it’s because he is in an affair. An affair!!

I arrived at the swing set and thought to myself again.

Being the person who knows about this secret is so frustrating! It’s such a big secret and I really need someone who I can talk to about this. Someone who I can trust or something. Then an idea popped into my mind.

Hindi. I can’t let Leo hear my overdramatic problems. He can’t. But then again –

“Hey, you’re here early.”

Oomph.

I fell off the swing.

“Ah!” I looked up to glare at the person who surprised me and found myself looking into familiar hazel-colored eyes.

He chuckled saka inabutan ako ng kamay. I took it and smiled at him, “Ako dapat nagsasabi nyan sa’yo.”

Umupo ulit kami sa swings, “Ano yung iniisip mo kanina? Parang ang lalim e. Care to share?” He asked seriously.

I opened my mouth to start saying it before closing it again. I was this close to saying it.

“I’m not sure if I should tell you,” I said quietly.

“Why not?”  He asked curiously.

“Hindi ko naman sikreto yun e. Pero kasi, ako yung nakakita. At parang ang bigat-bigat ng sikretong ‘to. I might just go crazy if I can’t tell someone about this,” Pag-amin ko sakanya.

“Then just say it. It’s not like I’m going to tell anybody. And besided, if I will tell someone, I wouldn’t know who. You’re the only person I know here. I’m home-schooled, I don’t go out very much or at all for that matter.” Tinignan ko siya, nakita kong sincere talaga siya sa sinasabi niya.

And took a deep breath and started to tell him, “Well, it started with a crush… “ I said to him all about it. But of course I skipped the part about me having a crush on him, “….. so that’s pretty much it,”  I ended.

He was in deep thought, “Hey, wanna play again?”

Nagulat ako sa sinabi niya, “Didn’t I just tell you about a secret?”

“Just forget about it. It has nothing to do with you. I see o reason kung bakit ka nagwo-worry dyan. Shrug it off and move on with your life,” He smiled, “Tara na! Laro tayo.”

I smiled at him.

We just played until it was time for me to go. It was 9PM by then.

It’s Friday already! Time flies so fast. After mine and Leo’s encounter last Wednesday, nakalimutan ko na yung sikretong yun.

We have been playing nonstop yesterday for the whole afternoon kasi nasuspend yung klase sa hapon kasi may meeting ang mga teachers. Yesterday, we also decided na best friends na kami.

And I think I may have more than just a crush on him. I think I like Leo.

What? Don’t blame me! He has a great personality, he’s smart, funny and let’s not forget that he’s hot and gorgeous. That was just a bonus factor.
