Episode 1.1: Coincidence

Alex POV

"Alexandra! Wake up!!!" Mom says as she open the lights of my room.

White light flashes into my room that makes me close my eyes hardly.

Ugh! I hate waking this up so early.

It is just so sad that vacation is already over. Classes are here again.

Goodbye beaches.

Goodbye hangouts.

I lazily put my pillow on top of my head to cover my eyes against the light. I twist my body sidewards to do a fetus bend and fix my blanket.

"Alexandra! Wake up! It's already 7:30 am!" Mom exclaims.

"Oh my! Did Candice passed by already?" I ask as I jump off the bed and quickly go inside the bathroom.

'Gosh! Alex really? First day of school you're late. Ugh! I hate this. My alarm clock fails me again.'

"Yes, a little while ago. I let her go ahead. I said you were still sleeping. I went to your room three times already just to wake you up and yet you didn't get up to your bed" Mom says.

"Move faster so you can eat breakfast" she adds while leaving my room.

After 30 minutes, I'm already done fixing myself. Wearing a dark blue, crispy satin like, Chinese collar polo with a logo of our university on the right side, partnered with slacks of the same fabric as the polo, I grab my bag and heads down to the kitchen.

'I hate waking up late! Everything's in rush. Jeez!'

"Mom, I'm going" I say.

"Don't you want to eat breakfast first?" she asks.

"I'm already late mom. I need to be in time for the IT Freshmen Orientation today", I reply.

"Ok, just bring these sandwiches with you, in case you get hungry while on the way to school. Bye Baby. I love you" she says.

"Thanks mom, I love you too", I take the sandwiches then I kiss her cheeks.

I am Alexandra Schmidt. A technology enthusiast. Blogger. Volleyball player and a baker. My only dream in the world is to be known in the technology world. Like the famous Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerburg, Sheryl Sandberg, Larry Page and the late Steve Jobs. Who wouldn't want to be in line with those people? Who are known with the greatest technologies they offered to the society. I also want to be known for someone who contributes in the development of the technology. Someone who can influence the fast innovating society and help them improve their lives with the use of the high tech devices, robotics and applied science. It may sounds that I look like I'm an unattractive social misfit that most geeks looks in the movies, but I'm not. 

Being one of the heiress of the Schmidt's family, who runs Hotel and Restaurant business for almost decades, having this dream is a big no-no. Lots of drama skills has been exerted for them to allow me to study the course that I've chosen.

After an hour of driving from Quezon City to Makati, I arrive at the Monte Carlo University. A large full automated steel gate will be seen in front of the university. It has a high steel fence that covers the perimeter of the whole campus. On top of the steel gate is an arc that has the Monte Carlo emblem and name. Its sophisticated design makes it more elegant, added to its high class materials used in creating the arc. At the left side of the gate, is the entrance hall for the students who were heading towards the walkway. Students and personnel's were required to tap their ID in the sensor placed in the hall to verify if they were allowed to enter the university. The ID serves as a tracking device to know the whereabouts of every person in the campus. It imposes a strict security for everyone's safety. There are lots of CCTV cameras installed there. Aside from the hall entrance security, there is also a RFID sensor that is placed at the steel gate which verifies the chip installed at every car that will enter at the university.
