"Are you ready?" Lindsey asked, standing in the doorway of Stevie's bedroom. "We've been waiting forever." He teased and she rolled her eyes, applying lipstick. "You don't need that, you know."

"Well, I want to look good." Stevie shrugged. "Don't you want me to look good?"

"You always do." Lindsey said, admiring her casual appearance. She was wearing light blue jeans and a plain white t-shirt, sandals on her feet, her hair loose.

"Okay, I think we can go." She went through what she had packed, giving the bag to Lindsey. "Baby?" She called out to Amber, who was already waiting by the door. "Aren't you the prettiest little thing!" Stevie gushed, looking at her daughter in a beautiful sundress.

"Steph, we have to go, otherwise we'll get to the beach when the sun has already set." Lindsey swirled his car keys around his finger, waiting for her to move.

"Okay, okay." She took Amber by the hand and opened the door, letting Lindsey walk through first, as they followed and Stevie stopped to lock the door. "Are you excited, sweetheart?" She asked Amber, as they were going to Lindsey's car.

"Yes! I can't wait to build sandcastles! And I want to swim, will you swim with me?"

"Um, Mommy doesn't do very well with water, baby. I would much rather build sandcastles with you." Seeing Amber become upset, Stevie added. "But you know who loves to swim?"

"Who?" A smile returning to the girl's face.

"I do!" Lindsey beamed, putting their things on the backseat. Amber squealed with excitement, making Lindsey and Stevie laugh. "Now, come over here and I'll strap you in the car seat." Amber happily obeyed, while Stevie took the passenger's seat. It was a small thing, to some maybe even unimportant, but Lindsey went out to buy a car seat for Amber, even though he clearly didn't need it and it showed Stevie that he cared about her daughter just as much as he cared about her.

The drive to the beach didn't seem a long one at all. They chatted the whole way, the radio was on, Stevie singing along to most of the songs, Amber joining in for a couple of them. Lindsey was surprised that a four year old knew them, but Stevie gave him a look and said, that Amber was her child and she was known to love great rock and roll music. Lindsey couldn't take his eyes away from Stevie; she just seemed so happy and careless, a smile never leaving her face. You put it there, she said, when he asked.

"Closer to the shoreline?" Lindsey asked.

"No, I think this is fine." Stevie shook her head, dropping a blanket on the sand. Glancing at Amber, Stevie chuckled. The girl was clearly ready to splash around in the water, staring at the ocean. "Let me help you take your dress off." At that, Amber just lifted her little arms up and waited for her mother to do the job. "Is it okay if Lindsey will play with you in the water?"

"Yes!" Amber nodded, jumping at the spot, wearing her pretty pink bathing suit.

Hand in hand, Lindsey and Amber were making their way towards the shore, while Stevie lay out the blanket and put their things on it. She then pulled the shirt over her head, tossing it away, before undoing the button on her jeans, as she wiggled her hips and dropped them around her ankles, now standing only in her black figure hugging one piece. Little did she know was that Lindsey had looked back at the exact moment, he gulped, his heart skipping a beat.

"Lindsey!" He then felt a tug on his hand and heard his name being called, causing him to focus on Amber again.

"I- I'm sorry, sweetie." Lindsey half-smiled, following Amber, as they took a few steps forward and their feet were met with the water, making Amber squeal, as she then giggled. They went in just a tiny bit deeper, Lindsey having a tight grip on the girl's hand, not letting go for a second.

Stevie was watching the two from afar and she couldn't help but smile. Amber warmed up to Lindsey instantly and he absolutely adored her, too. Stevie couldn't imagine choosing between them, she was beyond happy to have both of them in her life.

"Let's build a sandcastle, Mommy!" Amber pleaded, once she and Lindsey returned.

"Don't you want to rest for a little while? Aren't you exhausted?" Stevie asked, very aware of Lindsey eyes on her body.

"No." Amber shook her head. "Lindsey, bring us water, please?" She held up a small bucket, her best puppy eyes staring at him.

Sighing, he took it from Amber. "You Nicks women... I can't seem to say no." Coming back in just a minute, Lindsey put the bucket of water in front of Amber and lay down beside Stevie. "I can't take my eyes off you." He whispered, leaning in. Placing his hand on her bare thigh, he gently squeezed, his eyes wandering over the swell of her breasts.

"Mommy? Sandcastle?" Amber once again had to ask for attention.

Stevie loved her daughter with all of her heart, but Lindsey's hot breath on her neck, the words he was whispering to her, his eyes looking over her... She wanted his hands in entirely different places than just her thighs. It was hard to focus on something else.

"Sorry, baby. Yes, let's build that castle." Smiling, Stevie willed herself to move away from Lindsey, whom she left smirking, knowing just what huge power over her he had.

Several hours later, they began to pack up their things to go home. The three of them had a wonderful day together, but it was obvious Amber was completely exhausted by now, besides they needed to eat, having brought only fruit.

Once they arrived back at Stevie's, it was no surprise, seeing Amber asleep in her car seat. Lindsey took their bags, while Stevie unbuckled her daughter and held her in her arms, carrying all the way to the apartment.

"Take my keys from my handbag." She whispered and Lindsey gave her a look, both of them knowing he wasn't going to find them. Rolling her eyes, she asked him to hold the bag up for her, as she fished for the keys herself.

Pushing the door open, they entered the apartment, Stevie going to the living room to lay Amber down on the couch. The girl woke up the moment she felt the loss of her mother's embrace.

"Mommy?"

"Yes, sweetheart, I'm right here."

"Okay." Amber nodded and closed her eyes again.

Leaving her daughter asleep, Stevie went to the kitchen, opening the fridge for something that she could make quickly. Dinner was served about half an hour later, Stevie having to feed Amber, the girl's eyes closing every few minutes, as she sat on her mother's lap, comfortable and content.

Lindsey offered to wash the dishes, while Stevie put Amber to bed. A bedtime story wasn't needed, Amber drifted off to sleep in a matter of minutes. Stevie brushed the hair out of the girl's face, pressed a kiss to her forehead and left the room, leaving the door slightly ajar.

Going back to the kitchen, Stevie walked up to Lindsey from the back, wrapping her arms around him. He smiled, looking at her over her shoulder. "You're tired, too." Stevie just nodded. "I'm almost done here, we can go to bed as well." Even though it was relatively early.

Stevie waited for Lindsey to dry the last of the plates, leaning against the counter. Maybe I should wait until he puts the dishes away safely...

"What's on your mind?" Lindsey asked.

"How do you know something's on my mind?"

He shrugged, glancing at her with a smile on his face. "I just do."

"Well..." She paused, seeing him drying his hands, as he then tossed the kitchen towel aside. "Today was amazing. I loved watching you and Amber. You're so good with her."

"She's a great kid. And I loved spending time with both of you, too."

Coming closer to him, she locked her hands behind his neck, his settling on the small of her back. "I know, I freaked out a little, when you first mentioned it, but maybe... I would love to have our child."
