Rolling over in her bed, Stevie stretched out her arm over to Lindsey's side, a frown settling on her face. She opened her eyes and sat up, yawning. Where the hell is he? What time is it? Stevie was going to introduce Lindsey to her parents today and a long drive was ahead of them. She guessed that Lindsey was letting her get as much sleep as possible. Glancing at the alarm clock on the nightstand, Stevie saw it was just past 8 am. She only got to set one foot on the floor, when the bedroom door opened and in came Lindsey, half naked, carrying a tray.

A smile crossed her lips, as she made herself comfortable in bed again. "I was wondering where you had disappeared to." Lindsey walked over to her side and placed the tray over her lap, giving her a kiss. "Thank you. This looks... actually, pretty good."

"I told you I'm not hopeless, it just takes me a while." He joked, getting in on his side of the bed. "I wanted to do something nice for you, before we leave."

"This is nice. Nobody's ever done things like this for me."

"There's something else." Lindsey said, causing Stevie to raise an eyebrow, while she sipped on her coffee. He opened the nightstand drawer and took out a rectangular velvet box. "We've been together for three months." He smiled lovingly, handing the gift to her.

"Aw, Linds. Thank you, but you shouldn't have." Stevie kissed him, before she looked inside. Opening the box, she stared at the beautiful silver bracelet. "I love it!" She thought she saw something engraved and she wasn't wrong, when she took a closer look. It was simply letters S and L with a tiny heart in between them.

"I know people chose to engrave rings more often than bracelets, but I saw it, I liked it and I wanted to add a little something of us to it."

"Lindsey, you could have written that on a plain piece of paper and I would have loved it. I love you."

"I love you too, baby." They shared a more passionate kiss than the previous one, before they enjoyed breakfast together.

Hours of driving later, Lindsey pulled into Stevie's parents' driveway and let out a heavy breath. The both of them couldn't wait to get out of the car and stretch.

"Why did we decide to drive and not get on a plane again?" Lindsey asked and Stevie laughed lightly, shrugging.

"We thought it was going to be fun."

"Let's not ever do it again." He said with a pretty serious expression on his face.

Leaving their things in the trunk of the car, Stevie and Lindsey firstly went to say hi to her parents. Lindsey was becoming nervous. He was definitely more worried now than Stevie was when meeting Jennifer.

"What if they don't like me?"

"Why would they not like you?"

Shrugging. "I don't know. What if they tell you to break up with me?"

"Oh my God, Lindsey, shut up." Stevie rolled her eyes, as she rang the bell.

Lindsey scoffed. "See, you don't love me, why would they?"

Glaring at him for a second, Stevie then turned to face her mother, who opened the door, the two women smiling at each other warmly. "Stephanie... It's been a long time." Barbara said, although, she didn't say it to make Stevie feel bad.

"I know, Mom, I'm sorry." They shared a hug, then Stevie pulled back, taking Lindsey's hand. "So, this is Lindsey. Linds, this is my mother, Barbara."

"So nice to meet you." Lindsey gave the older woman a bright smile.

"It's nice to meet you, too." Barbara echoed, instead of a handshake, pulling him into a hug. "Come inside, your father is dying to meet his possible son-in-law." She chuckled, closing the door after Stevie and Lindsey entered the house.

"I hear you!" Jess called out from the family room, which was were Stevie and Lindsey were headed to, while Barbara returned to the kitchen to finish dinner.

"Hi, Daddy." Stevie's eyes welled up, because she hadn't seen her father in so long. "I missed you." She stepped into his open arms.

"And I missed you, too." They spent a moment longer in each other's embrace, before they let go and Stevie once again introduced Lindsey. "Well, I'm glad we finally get to meet you." The two men shook hands.

"I'm happy to meet you as well." Lindsey said with a small nod of his head.

All of sudden, he felt as if he was sixteen years old again. He loved Stevie with everything he was and he knew what they had was real, he hoped to God it would never end. But now standing in Stevie's parents' living room, had Lindsey shaking in his boots. Her parents couldn't be sure of his intentions towards their daughter and by the look on Jess' face, he knew that if he messed up, it wouldn't be pretty.

"I'm going to see if Mom needs some help." Stevie said, wanting to let go of Lindsey's hand, but he looked at her pleadingly, making her laugh. Giving him a kiss, she whispered. "You'll be fine."

Now left alone with Jess, Lindsey took a seat after he was showed to do so. "Don't look so frightened."

"I, uh... I'm sorry. I'm just not used to meeting my girlfriend's parents."

"So, you haven't had many?"

"Well, I have dated before, but those relationships were nothing compared to what Stevie and I have. I know that we've only been together for a couple of months, but... until I met her, I didn't believe in love at first sight. Now I do." What Lindsey said put a subtle smile on Jess' face.

"Are you two living together?"

"Not yet, no. But we've talked about it. We haven't decided if we wanted to move in to one of our places' or find ourselves a new apartment."

"But your future has Stephanie in it." It was more of statement.

"Absolutely." Lindsey nodded. "I... I have a ring. I think it might be too fast, but I hope to propose one day soon and that she accepts it."

Jess was pleased to hear this. Leaning forward in his seat, he clasped his hands together, looking at Lindsey. "All I can say is that you must be special if my daughter has brought you home." Patting him on the back, Jess got up. "Would you like a drink after that long drive?"

"Yes, please." Lindsey nodded, feeling relieved.

Stevie returned shortly, finding both men getting to know each other. "I hate to interrupt, but dinner is served."

"Thank you." Jess said, leaving the room first, with Stevie and Lindsey following a few steps behind.

"So, how was it?" She asked quietly.

"A lot better than expected." Lindsey replied, giving her a half-smile, pressing a kiss to her temple.
