Save the Last Dance

Today is the day,

I have waited for in weeks.

I hope that I could find

what i've been looking for & seek.

I remember that moment,

when you asked for a minute.

I didn't know what was going on,

so I simply went with it.

"Would you save me your last dance?",

he asked and blushed.

I was surprised, turning red,

so for a minute I just hushed.

"So, would you?",

he asked again in curiosity.

"I will, yes!",

I answered, smiling happily.

As pairs start dancing,

and pairs go by,

still waiting for that moment,

as the clocks unwind.

I was hoping you'd approach me,

like you did before.

So you did, with a tuxedo,

that you handsomely wore.

The time has come,

I will not let this pass.

The clocks will stop,

I will make this last.

I was so nervous,

my heart was pounding

when we reached the middle of the floor,

and started dancing.

As we glide across the floor,

I stare at your captivating eyes.

And he looks at me back,

and my heart beats rise.

As the song finished,

we stepped out of the light.

He gently kissed my hand,

and bid me a goodnight.
