Mason watch as his roommate walked towards him, he moved when he tried to touch his cheek and he said "it's nothing, just a few cuts" he walked past him but he grabbed by the collar and slammed into the wall of the building, his roommate said "nobody hurts anything that belongs to me" Mason was confused but quickly reacted, a dig in the gut should bring him down, his roommate fell on his knees and Mason said
"I don't belong to anyone"
He then walked into the room which he is now regretting being in the same room as his roommate, the roommate slowly got up off the ground, he thought 'why did that hurt me, he is JUST a human' as he rubs his stomach feeling the bruise coming up and then his group came over to him, one of them asked him what's up, he told him nothing and then he heard a familiar voice said
"Hello Eric, I want to speak to you about our new pet"
Eric looked up at the vampire and said "I kept telling you that his not ours but mine" the vampire laughed and just walked off, Eric felt mad and punched the wall beside him and his friends said "calm down, you'll know what will happen if we fight a vampire" Eric nodded and himself and the group walked away to get some food. Inside the room, Mason was cleaning his cuts when he notices dry blood on the side of his shirt and he slowly lift up his shirt, a huge bruise and a deep cut is what he saw, lucky for him that he knows first aid. He got out his first aid kit and began to stitch up, he was nearly finish when there was a knock on the door, he got out a bat that he had since he was kicked out of the baseball team ever since he nearly killed the couch. He was about to swing it but stopped midway when he saw a boy jumped out of the way centimetres from his face, the boy looked at him and shuttered "y-you must b-be the n-new kid" Mason nodded but still didn't leave the bat down and he said
"So,what do you want?"
The boy kept looking at him and said "I was only giving Eric's homework to him but he mustn't be here, so can you hand them to him" Mason nodded and the boy gave him Eric's homework and walked out of the room, 'what a scary cat' Mason thought as he went back to sewing up his wound. After cleaning up his wound, he then walked out go the room and tried to find the lunchroom. People were looking at him but some would say hello but Mason could see that the vampires were just looking at him like a piece of meat, he got his food and walked to a empty table. Then he felt once again that someone is trying to read his mind, he might as well let this person into his darkest secret and he then felt the person trying to get out but he thought
"Not so fast"
Quickly him give the person images of what he had seen in his life, a loud scream came from the table near to the windows and he watch as the vampire runs out of the lunchroom with his hands on his head shouting "get it out of my head". Mason smiled and he began to eat his apple, then he heard someone sit in front of him, he looked up and saw the same boy that was gave him Eric's homework, the boy shuttered "can I s-sit here" Mason nodded and continued eating his apple. The boy took out his lunch and a stretch pad, Mason notices that the boy keeps looking up at him as he draws, Mason said
"I thought you need the person permission to draw them"
The boy looked up and he could see that the boy was shocked and he chuckle as he said "don't worry, I wouldn't hurt you" the boy nodded and said " I was wondering why are you in this school?" Mason looked around before saying "take off the microphone on you and I'll tell you" the boy froze and ran. Mason smiled and could sense where the boy is going and ran, he blends into the shadows where the he could see the boy running beside him, the boy opened a classroom door and closed it. Mason stood beside the door and listened:
The boy: "he found out that we are recording him"
Voice 1: "what! How could it happen?"
Voice 2: "he probably told him and ran"
There was a clashing noise and Mason bursted in, he saw the boy on the ground with another boy much taller then him looking down at him, he could see that the boy is in pain and they turned around to look at him. The boy watch in complete shock as his two bully's went on the ground in pain, the new boy was looking down at one of them and said
"next time, you'll wouldn't be able to see it coming"
He turned to the boy whom just gotten on his knees, Mason grabbed him painfully on the shoulder and lifted him up, the boy struggled to get free as he shouts "please, don't hurt me" Mason looked at him and said "on one condition, you'll never try and record me again" the boy nodded and Mason let him down. He was about go but the boy grabbed his arm and said
"Please don't leave me here"
Mason didn't answer just walked away, the boy quickly followed him before the rest wake up, Mason heard the boy repeating to him that he didn't mean to record him, he looked at the boy and said "shut it". The boy nodded and everything was nice and peaceful not until a boy went up to Mason's face and said "your the one that did it" Mason looked at him pretending not to know as he said "I did what" the boy tried to grab him but the boy that was following Mason got a rubbish bin and poured it over the boy. Mason laughed as they watch the boy trying to get the bin off him, the boy grabbed his hand and they both ran for it.
They ran past the lunchroom where Eric just came in from having his lunch, he saw them and a member of the group said "I see that one of the humans made friends with the kid" Eric looked at the member and it shut him up. The group walked towards their table, and then a boy with a trash bin on his head fell onto the table, The sudden smell of death and vanilla came to the group, two of the members grabbed the boy while Eric pulled off the bin, the vampire looked at him and said "where did that kid go" Eric smiled and said
"I might have seen them around here"
The vampire pulled away from them and went in search of those who embarrassed him. The boy pulled Mason into the room, they were still laughing at what had happen and Mason said "okay, we are even now" the boy nodded and he out his hand out and said "I'm Samuel" Mason could sense that he isn't wearing that microphone again and said "Mason" and they both shook hands. After a few hours of staying in the room chatting, Mason found out a lot about Sam and he thought
'I think I just made a new friend'
As he walked out of the room and went to change into less destroyed clothes.
