The bell for school to get out just rang.

"Aye king imma' see you at the party lata' right?" Jo asked.

I sighed. I forgot all about Noel's house party.

"Yea." I answered.

"Alright." He dapped me up then we went our separate ways.

I went into the bath room and changed into my McDonald's uniform. Afterwards I walked out and went to the cafeteria.

I saw Monica at the water fountain drinking water. Then I saw Noel and her friends walk up behind her. Noel pushed Mo's face into the water causing her hair to get wet.

Noel and her minions laughed and walked away.

I shook my head and walked up to Monica.

"Strike two." Monica said and wiped her face.

"What?" I asked handing her another napkin.

"Nothing." She spoke and pulled her hair back.

"Well come on." I told her.

When we got into my car I began to drive.

"I advise you to control your girlfriend." Mo said placing on her cap.

"Or what?"

She laughed. "I'm just letting you know. If she messes with me one more time it won't end up pretty."

"Yea okay, whatever Mo."

A couple of minutes later we pulled up at work. I got out the car and placed on the apron. I sighed and walked inside. We both clocked in then went to our stations. I sighed wanting to get off of work already.

The time seemed to fly by. I took my apron off.

"King. For you." Mr. Mac said and handed me a check.

"A pay check? Already?" I said surprised since we have only been here for two days.

"Yea. It isn't much, but it's something." He said.

I opened it and saw we only received 15 dollars.

"15 dollars. Wow." Mo said smiling.

I shook my head then we both hopped into the car. The time on the clock read 10:17.

Monica began humming as I was driving.

"Can you stop?" I asked annoyed by her humming.

She looked at me then continued. I turned the radio up drowning out her noise.

She rolled her eyes. We soon made it home. I jumped out the car and walked inside.

Nick was on the couch watching TV and my mom was on the computer.

"Hey ma." I kissed her cheek.

"Hey baby." She smiled.

"What are you doing?" I looked at the computer and she was searching for houses on sale.

"Looking for a house. This house is way too big and too much money."

"Ma I told you, I got a job so I can afford it."

"Boy that little McDonald's check ain't gone pay for everything."

I sighed. "Okay okay." I said and threw my hands up in surrender.
